      Welcome!

Hope he's ready because I suspect he'll be getting thrown in straight away.

I like the cut of his jib. Looks thrilled to bits in the photo's. Must be stoked at prospect of playing under Klopp alongside his Brazilian mates in the PL. Keep yourself fit lad, get your head down and let's see what you've got!

There is a reason Juventus paid so much for him, so there's definitely a player there. The question mark is obviously his injury record.
Let's be honest, many aren't expecting much from him, so he can only surprise us positively.

Welcome to the best club in the world Arthur!

From Juventus website (love it when clubs are so transparent when it comes to transfer deals):
"Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that an agreement has been reached with Liverpool F.C. for the temporary disposal, until 30 June 2023, of the registration rights of the player Arthur Henrique Ramos De Oliveira Melo for a consideration of € 4.5 million, the agreement envisages ancillary costs of € 0.3 million.
The agreement further envisages the right for Liverpool to definitively acquire the player’s registration rights; the agreed consideration for the definitive disposal is € 37.5 million, payable in two years."

      Squad number 29.

I know i started this thread but the only things I knew about him, beforehand, are that he's a midfielder and has a name that I would never expect a Brazilian to have.

      Optional buy clause of 37mill.

At least if the move doesn’t work out we can just bin him off easy enough next summer.

Hopefully he turns out to be a shrewd piece of business.

Seems strange that the club were denying the option to buy knowing that Juventus were going to release it anyway. Wonder what that’s all about.

Anyway, welcome to the club Arthur! Hopefully you make a bigger impact than our last deadline day panic loan deal.

I would say it’s because the club have no intention of paying it.

Why not ? If we are getting someone who we have no intention of buying is that not  a bit like saying he isn't good enough especially when we will need at least two midfielders next season

By some, 'Bruce' guy, who I errr, assume knows his stuff.

      You mean like Kabak?

I think it’s just a matter of course having some sort of potential fee included. It says that if we are to sign him then it’s to have the payment split across 2 years. 37mill isn’t a massive fee nowadays, especially when you consider that is in Euros too. IMO if we had any intention of signing him then we’d have done so instead of a loan and structured a deal to make it worthwhile and/or there would have been more news about the optional fee from our side. Also don’t think it would have been a signing we’d have left until today.

For all we know he could be great this season and make it well worth pursuing but as it stands, with so much talk about targets next summer, I think the arrows point to the club just having him for the season and then going seperate ways.

Apparently he’s never shy or too bothered about not having a great time off the pitch so much so it’s seen him miss games due to mysterious injuries that crop up after he’s had this time.

Strange signing this by all accounts but welcome and good luck lad.
