Although at first, like many I wasn't thrilled with this deal. I can't deny I am looking forward to seeing him play for us. I know anyone can look good from highlights but from what I've been watching about him he looks quite a tidy player actually, very good with his control and use of the ball.

Hopefully he proves us wrong and becomes a great piece of business.

He's the type of player the Everton and United games were lacking.
As much as I enjoyed the game v Everton, we were wide open.
Great when we were in attack but it lacked control in midfield.
You'd hope that when Thiago and Arthur are both available that
      the midfield is more balanced.

Thought we may have seen a 10-15 min cameo from his last night.

Reckon the sub of Bajcetic was a statement or is Arthur really just not match fit or system ready yet?

He's probably not system ready yet considering how much time it usually takes for most of our signings to settle in even if sometimes the boss plays them one or two times as soon as they are signed/available.

I guess the only reason he played against Napoli was the fact we literally had nobody else we could put on in the middle of the park after subbing in Thiago. Those 2 weeks without football are going to be great for us (hopefully) because it will give time to players like Arthur to adapt even more and others to come back from injury as well as just more training sessions in general to shake off that form we started the season with.

We won't see much of this lad. He was brought in as an extra body ... cheap n cheerful or last minute desperation. I don't think Jürgen was/is convinced by him.

As with everything in life ... you buy cheap you buy twice. Nothing against the lad. Hope he proves me wrong like.

He was clearly a body in the door when ravaged by injuries in CM.
Best case scenario he plays his way into a contract.
Worst case scenario the club still needs 2 midfielders.

Yep ... about sums it up mate. We needed 2 midfielders this summer. But this what we have now till the end of season.

The bigger issue is as seen at the start of the season.
Elliott and Carvalho doing some serious heavy lifting of minutes
that you'd be expecting the likes of Keita and Ox to do.

Ox? He would not get into most day's squad and only play in early rounds of cup games.

Keita is the problem if there's rift between he and the club and he's done playing for us. He'd be first off the bench to start for Hendo/Thiago.

I'm referring to the age profile of the player.
Nothing wrong with pre-injury Ox either.
The issue is the large hole in the squad the two have created.

Can’t see him getting any significant game time to be honest.

I haven't watched Klopp's pressers as often as I'd used to.
Would make sense. We'll probably only start to see him in Cup games then.

Elliot and calvaho doing heaviy lifting as you put it mate highlights the big issue that we needed new and better and more reliable midfielders this summer. And we didn't do anything bar the last minute bargain bins.

Its great having Thiago back but we all know it won't last and he'll join Ox, keita, Jones and Co in the treatment room again pretty soon.

Melo ... I hope he proves me wrong. Nothing against the lad. But I can't see it and I don't think he will feature that much. He's an option and an option that isn't fit enough currently.

      YA

Im sure he will be used more once were into the busy period with 2 games a week again. Subs and cups.

Fixture list is mental after international break and the middle of November when it all stops for WC.

      No,

but when several Italian newspapers are saying the same thing then there might be some truth in it.

Some making a big deal out of Milner and Bajcetic coming on as subs and not Melo, but Klopp likes time to get players up to speed and tuned in to the way he wants them to play.

I just read some tweet that said Klopp is looking for a way to cut the loan short because he isn't up to the quality needed. Who knows if there's an ounce of truth to that though.

      I saw that too.

On the one hand, it wouldn't surprise me if it was true.  Barca were happy to let him go.  His value of 70M was smoke and mirrors -- a way for Barca to balance the books and was part of a bigger deal that sent Pjanic the other way for a similar fee.  Fast forward a couple of years and Juve were happy to let him leave on loan.  It doesn't seem he's really impressed any of his former employers....

On the flip side -- take everything the journos write with a spoonful of salt....
