The only positive to take from this game is Gomez IMO, thought he had a very good game and going in the right direction with his form after so long out. Right now, I’d be tempted to have him and Matip at CB.

      Really……that’s a poor combo really.

Matip is easily bullied and Gomez is awful in the air plus neither vocal enough to play the high line Klopp wants.

This team won‘t win anything this season, but I cannot point to the reason(s), something just seems off.

Got Chelsea and Arsenal away and Man City and Brighton at home in the next 5 PL games.  Seems like a very tough start to the season - certainly away from home anyway.

Err...what? To say Matip is bullied easily is quite something and I can only guess your perception is wrong when he's been such a core player in our best moments the last few years

That’s a very strange assessment to make. Especially when you’ve got Virgil strolling around hiding from challenges with his hands behind his back.

Give the ball to Fermino all day and he will hit it straight to the keeper all day. Someone needs to remind him to shoot either side of the keeper to have a chance to score. Simples …

As above, you don't become as good a defender and as integral a player as Matip has been whilst being 'bullied easily'.

I missed today’s game but the Salah that left for AFCON is not the same one that came back. Did Egypt send us back a doppelgänger?

Time to switch off from football for the rest of the weekend. Not worth the frustration, rather not see the teams around/above us win.

I think we’ve a couple of new players. They’re not used to playing with each other yet. Probably insufficient time to train with each other. And the fixtures are brutally fast.

Also some players appear tired after playing heavy metal football for a few seasons.

May be hard to swallow but we just have to face the fact we are a team in kinda a transition right now. New faces have to work into the system.  Injuries don't help. Also the amount of miles on the legs of our senior players over the last 5 years takes it's toll.  Quite a few of players left this past summer (bench included).   We have some real quality youngsters in mid that are just not the final product yet. Yes we should have gotten a quality veteran Mid this summer, but it's too late for that now.

Doesn't look will be challenging for Title .  City will win it by 10-15 probably.  Still massively confident of Top 4. It's a long season.  Don't forget.  World Cup break and all.

Even the dominant  Fergie United teams re-tooled every now and then. It's part of the process.  Right now City are way ahead of us no doubt.

Onwards and upwards, Napoli next week we go again.

Still rather be a Red than a fan  of any other team

Just got on my break and disappointed to see the draw… if we can’t break down Everton somethings off.

Think we’ll be luck to get one of the Cups this season.

Saw last season quite a few times Konate replacing Matip for his lack of prescience - Chelsea sticks in my mind in particular.

More of the same thing that we’ve already seen this season.

Defence look suspect, midfield looks sluggish and we’re not as clinical as we once were.

We need to sign proper competition for trent, hopefully the young lad from Scotland will do that.

Virgil isn’t the same player. He’s lost a yard of pace.

Thought gomez did ok today but the sooner matip is back in the better.

Elliott once again looked a real talent but he faded in the second half. Carvalho couldn’t get into the game and it’s my suspicion he might have wanted to go off.

Salah isn’t the salah of old and it’s difficult to understand why. It seems to be a lot easier for other teams to mark him out the game now. He was barely involved again today.

Said it before but I’m not impressed with nunez. That doesn’t mean I’m writing him off, but with any player you can usually tell immediately if they’re a top player by their touch, technique etc, and he just looks clumsy to me.  Jota starts ahead of him every single time in my team.

And diaz. A real player no doubt but he blows hot and cold. Can go 10, 15, 20 mins a time without touching the ball. So far, he isn’t as consistent as mane was who was always a constant menace.

With all that said, we still should have won the game. I don’t buy into pickford having a great game, I think it was more poor finishing from us. But so far this season we’ve haven’t looked anywhere near our usual level. Currently, it’s a top four race for us.

most games are on the floor these days and with the exception of Naaland there are not to many big n09's. Joe has improved every game and his pace today saved us a few times . Think we have to accept this is a transitional year . For me Mo is the biggest conundrum just what has happened to him.

Until we get the team sorted back out we'll be pissing against the wind. There was a passage of play with Milner sliding about so desperately to get back it was almost painful to watch. In fact I think it actually was.

We've got Arthur on loan now in midified so hopefully he slots in for now but it strikes me as a short term solution to a long term problem.

Pickford was good for Everton today, but we had our moments needing Alisson too.

I dont think a draw was an unfair result.

Our battle for top 4 is far from straight forward this year.

Bournemouth (which barely counts) aside, mad how we haven’t actually been in front all season.

Disappointing, no away win in 3 , nowhere near City's level at the moment
