Deserved win but a lot of work to do.

That's us done for about 3 weeks isn't it?

Big win that . Much better I thought and better side overall could have had 3 or 4.

Great to get the win and while not perfect a much better performance.

For me Jota and Thiago made a huge difference tonight and Thiago in particular was on another level.

Sell Nunez in January when Konate is back and put Matip up front.

We had plenty of chances to win that game so fully deserved. Wasn’t great but it was a vast improvement.

      Well deserved win!

It was an enjoyable watch in a season that hasn’t been much fun so far

Matip and Thiago make such a difference; they’re both world class players. Tsimikas did very well tonight and Alisson’s distribution was brilliant. Diaz worked hard and played well. Jota had some good moments. Every player did quite well tonight which was nice to see.

An exciting game. Much better effort and even though there were some hiccups, much, much better. Thought Tsimikas was an unsung hero. Ran his nuts off and was massive defensively and going forward. Thiago really the difference in that midfield. Also thought it was interesting having Firmino in midfield. Wonder if we might see more of that in the future.

Great 3 points. Right back in it.

any idea why Trent was playing up front in the middle at times he was hardly ever just out wide is this because Mo is stuck out there now.

So important to get that 3 points today, not just for the group standing but the confidence. Hopefully it feeds through to the next few weeks training and we can come back stronger again.

Tsimikas, Thiago and Diaz all outstanding. Brilliant from big Joel getting the winner.

I thought the Bobby sub didn’t really work at all, he just gave the ball away in dangerous situations.

3 points, a late winner, and better performance :)
      Delighted.
At the back, TAA better with the ball, though maybe bit lax for the goal.
Matip big improvement on Gomez, got the goal, brought the ball out from the back well, maybe could have have a pop once or twice from the edge of the box :)
      VVD and Kostas fine.
Eliiot, needs to impose himself on a game more, tidy enough but just too safe.
Thiago biggest difference, really good in first, half, quieter in 2nd but still involved. Fab did OK.
Diaz did fine, maybe faded a bit in spots. Mo bit better but still a way to go.
Impressed with Jota coming in after injury, deserved a goal for the showing.
Nunez thuogh, have been giving him the benefit of the doubt, but he's worrying poor right now, looks slow, poor control and choice of passes, generally just very ordinary.  Needs to seriously sharpen up.
All in all, much better though.
Didn't look like reinvention, just had some players back from injury.
Need more to come back, and form to keep improving.
      Relief, 3 pts :)

We may have not have been at our glittering best but we were fully deserving of the win tonight and that was far better than a week ago.

Step in the right direction and a crucial three points in the group stage.

Gave my MotM to Matip. I thought he was outstanding tonight.

A few could have had it; Thiago (9), Matip (9.1), Tsimikas (8.5), Trent (8.5), Diaz (8.5), that kind of thing.

Matip though; playing the ball out from defence, plus his goal. Outstanding.
