Because he was about 12 when we first signed him and wasnāt going to go into the team when we had salah and mane. Youāre just echoing and proving my point. I know Elliott has played the majority of his games in the middle. Thatās because weāve signed two midfielders since 2019. Arthur and Thiago. What year did Elliott start playing as a cm for us?
He started playing in the midfield three in 2021 which was his first season in the first team . I donāt understand why you think itās an issue when the manager clearly thinks it is where he should be best playing 🤷āāļø And he played when other midfielders were on the bench
Itās not nonsense. You denying it is nonsense. Every player has a price. We are a much bigger club than dortmund and if our owners were ruthless then we would have signed Bellingham. But theyāre not ruthless. Far from it. To sign Bellingham means we need to sell whatever his value is first.
So Dortmund donāt want to sell , they donāt need to sell, the player doesnāt want to force a move , there is no release clause - so tell me what the club can do to force Dortmund to sell.
Care to explain how you can force Dortmund to sell when they have zero intention of selling ?
Itās not a buyers market right now unless the selling club have financial issues , there is a release clause.
Those figures may or may not be correct but you just chose whatever players you felt like. You failed to list everybody. Lots of players have left who we made money on, allowing us to sign certain players. So again, what is the actual net spend during klopps time here and what does it average out per season? It is nowhere near 60m a season which is what your post stated. So why on earth do you think FSG would go out and sign Bellingham for 80m letās say, when there hasnāt been any evidence of them doing that without recouping that value, or close to that value, first?
I have given you evidence 🤷āāļø Who did the sell to recoup the money they spent on Diaz in Jan ?
The transfer list is there for all to see -
https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2022/06/Jürgen-klopp-net-spend-how-liverpool-compare-man-utd-chelsea-man-city/amp
Klopp's net spend by season
Season Estimated net spend (Ā£m)
2015/16* 5
2016/17 4
2017/18 58
2018/19 163
2019/20 0
2020/21 93
2021/22 41
2022/23 69
Not sure he needs to āaverageā out - but that shows that if Bellingham was a target for them next season and he cost Ā£80mil etc then I donāt doubt they would go for him and the money would be there to be spent - without having to sell any player they didnāt want too
The club will always sell players when the manager etc deem them surplus to requirements or the player wants to move on - but thatās just part of the sport is it not, at some stage players will leave
Do you think we need new players to challenge for the title again or not? Because I donāt think this squad of players are anywhere near challenging for a title. Age has caught up with them and the neglect by FSG is finally showing.
I thought the squad was good enough to challenge again but it would be hard just as it always is but results havenāt gone well so far and donāt see anyone but City winning the title , but I have no doubt that our big players ( who arenāt suffering with age ) - TAA , VVD , Salah , Thiago etc will find their form and pick up to see us challenge in the CL and Domestic Cups
