      Vs

      Liverpool   Man City

Well, Sunday really is an acid test of who and where we are, great result on Wednesday, but we have done that before against Bournmouth, and then imploded against very average teams on paper.

We did win our last encounter if you've forgotten that, but that now counts for nothing, lets hope we can raise the roof and inject some oomph into the team, especially defensively.

Team wise, who knows who will play, and who will be on the bench, but what is for sure we need to win, or at the very least, get a draw.

I guess most of us are fighting that feeling of impending doom about this fixture. The second half on Wednesday will have instilled a generous amount of confidence for all who featured....especially Mo. There's still a lot to fight for, no Champions league spot would feel like a massive setback for the club, so we need to go on an extended run of 3 point victory's, and where better to start than Our place buzzing on Sunday?
If we can put a Charity shield performance in, we can wipe the floor with them.

It’s mad, we’re so far behind now that losing doesn’t really make a difference to our season but will absolutely destroy our confidence

why impending doom I have seen a far lesser team in a Red shirt do incredible things at Anfield and I see no reason to think we will do anything other than win.
Anfield will do what is expected and Mo will do the rest

I agree, however if it was a Rafa team then you would think we would be solid and try Nick a win.

With Klopp - he goes all out to win, whether that’s home or away (that’s why we love him!!) and if it’s not working then we concede quite heavily.

If city turn up (like they always do) then I can’t see us not conceding at least 2. So we’ll have to score a minimum of 3 etc

These lads know the consequences of not being up for it on Sunday and the Crowd will not let them be anything but like hungry Lions.
Pep doesnt like Anfield the only time he did was when it was empty so Anfield full Mo got his touch back and Jürgen has a very good record against him so no need for doom and gloom get ready for a fantastic Anfield classic win

With the crowd behind the players, and they really show up, anything can happen, it may well be City on the losing end come Sunday!

I second what Walt said, too many fellow Reds already writing this game off as a loss, and we have not even got to the weekend yet.
Yes, if you put all the stats and present form into a computer it would probably strongly favour the manky Mancs, but the game is not played on a computer is it.

At home with the crowd behind us, let's go Reds and give the oil mob something to think about, and the 3 points to us.

      C'mon the Redmen.

Seems my perceived sense of gloom is not warranted , it was motivated by the points gap and the form of both sides so far. I wasn't for a minute suggesting we can't win it...as I said, play anything like Charity Shield and we'll win.

Cracking game, level at half time, we take the lead on 57 mins, then Nunez wraps it up with a 20 yard stunner..3-1.

The Rangers game should not be overestimated. Sure it provides some confidence for the lads but the issues at the back remains. Just look at the first goal rangers scored and the space between the two CBs

I just want to get through the 90 Min and forget about that game as quick as possible because it might end in a real slaughter….

Citeh are the best team in the league at the moment, are in good form, scoring a lot of goals.
We are a bit fragile at the back and haven't really clicked into gear yet this year.
But we've upset the odds before :)
Some reasons to be positive are that Gomez for TAA should shore up the defense a bit, Bob looks in good form and Mo for the first time this season looked a bit more like his old assured self in front of goal last time out.
Still, would put Citeh as favorites, but you never know. Looking forward to it one way or the other :)

I wonder if the doubters have ever seen the sign in the players tunnel that puts the fear of god into team "This is Anfield". We fear no team when the likes of Sutton say City will wipe the floor with us I am more convinced than ever that our lads will perform and will win.

Fancy Mo will want to remind people he is the truly World class striker who has won everything there is to win.
