The Uruguayan is one of three changes made by the Reds for the Group A encounter at Johan Cruijff Arena.

Trent Alexander-Arnold also returns in defence, while Jordan Henderson is restored in midfield by Jürgen Klopp.

Ibrahima Konate is named among the substitutes.

Klopp: "Naby and Ox are not in the Champions League squad because everyone told me they would be out for longer."

Simple john ... if we're on it then it's going to be a tough game. If we turn up as at forest and like the majority of the season we will get beaten ...

If we can keep it tight, defend properly we can hurt them. They need to win.

Gutted Thiago being out, but I think we’ll still have too much for Ajax, Nunez up top with a trio of Mo, Bobby & Harvey, Bobby could drop a tad deeper and form a 4-4-2 if required in spells, but it looks mainly a 4-2-3-1,
Think we need only draw to progress thru, but I’d like to see us go for the throat straight from the off, and hopefully have the luxury of resting one or three ready for the weekend, I’d be happy with a scrappy 1 niller, basically just get the fookin job done, Simples!!

Would prefer 4-3-3 with Nunez coming off the left, but reckon it will be like you said.
He's struggled a bit breaking down defenses, control in tight spaces and decision making, but could get a bit more space tonight, away game, they will come at us. Running at a defense in a more open game, he should fancy it.
