We're already are, you not seen some of the financial sh*t Standard chartered have been involved in Iran before they became sponsorship partners with us.

      Not before! During.

Absolute sh*t show from FSG standard chartered sport washing their brand and image through us.
Done more dodgy dealings than Del Boy. Money laundering and sanction dodging set of mercenaries.
Over a decade of sponsoring the club and no outcry.
Nike aren’t far behind either, with their sweatshops and forced labour.

      F***ing disgrace

Tough to find a company that doesn’t have some skeletons

Every sports manufacturer will have factories in China etc

Insurance companies and banks etc will have some questionable accounts

There is no doubt that you wear clothes , watch Telly , use smart devices built by companies who will have a skeleton or two

Skeletons maybe but both our major sponsors have ongoing problems that are happening during the tenure of sponsorship.
Now recast your memory a few years ago, remeber Tibet water. They sponsored us untill their controversies came out, and Liverpool cut ties with them.
So why not with standard chartered and Nike?
F***ing money FSG are as bad as the rest.

A club is not going to cut ties with Nike and also won’t stop a sponsorship without just cause - it could cost the club a lot of money

And which shirt manufacturer would they move to that doesn’t have issues ?

Just cause. What just cause do you need? Money laundering ok in your book? Child labour and forced Muslim labour ok in your book?
Although the latter still under investigation!

Maybe if it was in the past then ok,  if these sponsors were improving morally and ethically now and going forward. Then yeh I could see the reasoning.

But it’s happening under the tenure of their sponsorship.
How can this just be flagrantly ignored.
It’s a f**king disgrace the whole way the club is ran from top to bottom.

I’m not sure which manufacturer they could move to but due diligence could and should be done when selecting these sponsors.
Standard chartered sponsor has been renewed twice, they should be no where near the club.

Was it not money laundering controls they were fined for - they weren’t doing the money laundering themselves

Yes that what they were fined for but it’s a lot more complicated that just saying they had loose controls. The way they are meant to check stuff and do customer due diligence they where basically happy not to and basically quiet complicit. It runs deeper than  just that though, Forbes did a great piece on them in 2019. It was titled Standard Chartered Bank's Long History Of Financial Crime. There’s multiple articles out there that state the various controversies they’ve had over the past few years. Doesn’t take much searching on Google to realise what they are

QSi is subsidiary of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the state-run sovereign-wealth fund in Qatar.[5][6]

It is, but at same time isn't that how they get around that issue. Make some seperate company and lob a load of different people on the board.

The money QSI use to purchase their sports teams etc comes from the Qatar sovereign wealth

It’s the same as PIF being the equivalent for Saudi sovereign wealth

Yeah it's one thing that they can easily get around. Red Bull have control of both Leipzig and Salzburg and that isn't a problem for UEFA.

The Qatar rumours are probably a load of sh*te but if it doesn't happen it won't be because they own PSG.

Not sure where to put this but it drives me nuts that we have been the team sticking it to City all these years but due to a lack of backing and continued growth when we were at our best we have now given an opportunity to another team to take advantage of Man City's dip in form.

At the end of the day we are in a Capitalist system and its all about money. If we want to compete with the best teams, this is the way to go.

The more I think about it, the more the situation annoys me.

Our owners bought this club for a relatively small amount. Yet, they are holding out for obscene amounts of money. This just confirms how greedy and horrible they are.

I think people forget that this is a football club, designed for supporters and entertainment.

The profit our owners will make by selling this club will be astronomical and it makes me sad.

Interesting watching Henry literally booed out of the building  by red sox fans who are sick of no investment in their team and extortionate ticket prices. They were called out when they tried to rip us off on ticket prices.

Be interesting to see what happens if he bothers to show his face at anfield again.

No investment ....  and bleed it for maximum return is how they operate. Any success is a bonus. Stop holding out ... just take your 3bn plus and f*ck off.

Do we actually know they “holding out for obscene money”

A lot of work has gone into improving the club

They have been very clear that they always look for outside investment and the clubs worth is pretty much the standard for the clubs at that level

Should we expect them to sell below market rate - if they are wanting to sell the club , which I’m still not sure if their main aim anyway
