I thought his cameo last night deserves a thread as I think he has the raw ingredients to become a top player.
Loved his ability to step off both feet and has a turn of pace.

One definitely to look out for in the future.

Spoke to a fellow red after the game who was in the stadium and asked did he look as good as he did on TV? It was a resounding yes.

Honestly, I don't think I have been that impressed from a youngster making a first appearance as that.

He has a long way of course but I want to see more of him, the way he swivels the hips and moves his feet only reminds me of one other and he is arguably the GOAT.

Excited to say the least.

Knew of him coming through at Celtic and was over the moon when we nabbed him.

Been lapping up him playing for the youngsters on LFCTv - htg against Napoli there were 2 mins on clock and he had ripped both full backs a new one.

I didnt have access to see Fowler / Gerrard or Owen at that age but this lad is the best Ive seen. More rounded and not solely reliant on pure pace like Sterling.

Honestly think this is lad is a £200m+ embryo.....I just hope we never sell him.

What I liked about him is he seemed to not realize how young he is and that he wasn't supposed to be so confident. That will serve him well. It's how Trent use to play. Bit of fire there. Be keeping my eye on this one.

Heard a lot about him from a Celtic mate who said he remind him of Bale as a kid

To have senior appearances for both Celtic and Liverpool at 16 years of age says it all really. Been plenty of promising youngsters through this club, some make it and some don’t. Excited to see what happens with him.

He stood out enough for me and my mum to go wth did that youngster just do well we never said that we looked at each other and went wtf, wont get my hopes up though, cool to see a player I wasn't even aware of have some magic about him though can only be a positive. I won't go too romantic about the game against Derby, even though it was respect worthy, the effort, it still wasn't massively impressive or anything, just keeping grounded about it, the players who played in that game should be played in the league cup as their personal goal, they earned it. Is right Doak  well done I mean like he came on last ten minutes? Lets not get carried away. Cool though.

I saw it on Dailymail. 'Normal' head to head but a clash is always a clash. Landed on his feet but immediately went down holding his head.

He's got 7 starts guaranteed until Christmas (more if we progress in the League Cup) and I can see him getting minutes in the league too so we can protect Salah a bit.

Keep him and review things in January.

What great news this is, this lad has a massive future ahead of him as long as he keeps his feet on the ground and with Jürgen Klopp guiding him he won't go far wrong, well done Ben, richly deserved.

The lad is a bit raw at the moment, undoubtedly there is an abundance of talent there, give it time the lad will be really special to us,so unlucky when his shot hit the bar. Another superstar in the making.

Feel sorry for Bens misfortune really. This moment could be the biggest opportunity for him (and all kids who unfortunately got injure).

A good one would be somewhere where he can play every week, like Bradley and Quansah for half a season did in league 1. So the level doesn't necessarily matter too much although I wouldn't want him playing in the SPL.

What was everyone's new found favourite love child Anthony Gordon doing at the same age? Or Nico Williams?

What does end product look like for someone that young out of interest....

Well not constantly running into blind alleys for starters. Doesn't matter what age he is. He just looks like a corner or goal kick specialist to me.
The kid's just not looking the right fit for Liverpool FC, and that's not his fault tbh...

Fair enough, can't say I agree with much there because he tends to beat his man, get to the byline and looks to always pull it back for someone. This is why old fashion wing play is being ironed out the game, you get criticised when you don't find your man in the penalty box despite being outnumbered, 2-3 attackers to something like 6 defenders + the keeper.

& of course age matters. End product comes with experience and I'm not sure how anyone can write someone off at 18 when they've played 300mins of football, the likes of Williams and Gordon went 20-30 games before they even scored a goal for their clubs and that came at 20/21. Even Harvey now is only really coming out his shell and showing end product at 20/21.

But, as I have already stated, I'm just not seeing it in him...
Harvey was streets ahead of Doak at the same age. Hence why he had a LOT more playing time...

Didn't Harvey go out on loan to Blackburn at Doak's age? Before that he made 9 appearances for the club and hadn't scored or assisted. Plus injury has kept Doak out for the last 5-6 months so not entirely fair.

I think Harvey was a year younger than Doak is now when he went on his very successful loan stint to Blackburn Rovers. Young player of the season nominee, played over 40 games and had a great score/assist ratio iirc...

I dunno, I think it will depend on what Arne’s plans are for this campaign, we have ample resources on the right with Bradley, Trent, Szlobos & Mo, wouldn’t do the lad any harm going on loan, however i wouldn’t be averse in having him as part of the squad either this season, on the fence with Ben for the moment??

I think a year playing week in week out for a championship team or league 1 will do him the world of good.

Go and rip it up like Connor Bradley and Harvey Elliott did.

Very lively yesterday. Kid just needs games. Can see him having a helluva career.

I accidentally came across a post on my twitter feed yesterday from a Boro fan saying this kid might be better than Salah, so I assumed he had a decent game yeah.
