With Ben Doak, I see absolutely no end product. He's great in League Cup games, that's it...

You want to cash in on an 18 year old who's played about 300mins of first team football? 

What was everyone's new found favourite love child Anthony Gordon doing at the same age? Or Nico Williams?

What does end product look like for someone that young out of interest....

Well not constantly running into blind alleys for starters. Doesn't matter what age he is. He just looks like a corner or goal kick specialist to me.
The kid's just not looking the right fit for Liverpool FC, and that's not his fault tbh...
Like I said, hopefully we make a few Shekels on him...

Fair enough, can't say I agree with much there because he tends to beat his man, get to the byline and looks to always pull it back for someone. This is why old fashion wing play is being ironed out the game, you get criticised when you don't find your man in the penalty box despite being outnumbered, 2-3 attackers to something like 6 defenders + the keeper.

& of course age matters. End product comes with experience and I'm not sure how anyone can write someone off at 18 when they've played 300mins of football, the likes of Williams and Gordon went 20-30 games before they even scored a goal for their clubs and that came at 20/21. Even Harvey now is only really coming out his shell and showing end product at 20/21.

But, as I have already stated, I'm just not seeing it in him...
Harvey was streets ahead of Doak at the same age. Hence why he had a LOT more playing time...

& the best chance to see him succeed here is giving him a few years to develop, not cash in after 1 loan.

Didn't Harvey go out on loan to Blackburn at Doak's age? Before that he made 9 appearances for the club and hadn't scored or assisted. Plus injury has kept Doak out for the last 5-6 months so not entirely fair.

Wasn't until the start of the 22/23 season at 19 did Harvey see regular game time.

I think Harvey was a year younger than Doak is now when he went on his very successful loan stint to Blackburn Rovers. Young player of the season nominee, played over 40 games and had a great score/assist ratio iirc...
Do you think Doak would do the same, or even come close to that if he was loaned out to a Championship this season?

I dunno, I think it will depend on what Arne’s plans are for this campaign, we have ample resources on the right with Bradley, Trent, Szlobos & Mo, wouldn’t do the lad any harm going on loan, however i wouldn’t be averse in having him as part of the squad either this season, on the fence with Ben for the moment??

I think a year playing week in week out for a championship team or league 1 will do him the world of good.

Go and rip it up like Connor Bradley and Harvey Elliott did.

Anyone know the actual length of Doak's "long term" contract signed Sept. 2023?

Spotrac shows this "long term" contract covers only 2 years.
