Anfield hosting the Saints before the World Cup

Subs: Adrian, Kelleher, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tsimikas, Carvalho, Bajcetic, Phillips, Doak.

Liverpool make 10 changes for the visit of Southampton to Anfield this afternoon.

Only Joe Gomez retains his place in the starting line-up from the midweek Carabao Cup tie with Derby County.

Academy youngster Ben Doak is named among the substitutes, while James Milner returns to the bench after missing the last two matches.

      Konate injured again?

Good to see 2 keepers on the bench again 😁

2 keepers on the bench incase Alisson has to go up front, always have a Plan C.

Feels like we've been here before doesn't it with hendo, Jones and konate. Even a week off doesn't guarantee we get to the next game being able to rely on them. At least Ox hasn't broken down yet.

That should be enough to be these ... needs to be. Not alot on the bench to change it up.

Midfield  often where people harp on about injuries but Konate and Matip have had fsir share and Gomez some lengthy ones as well

Disappointed Konate not in the squad, has made a difference since coming back. Gomez/TAA on one side is a worry.
Bench is light, but hopefully the first XI will have enough to do the job.
Mo has been in good form, will likely need him to do his stuff again today.
Last one before the WC break, let's not leave anything out there.

Nothing new with Jones being injured. Sounds harsh but I'm surprised he lasted a couple of weeks. Him, keita, Ox, Thiago, Matip and konate .... and the captain ... 7 of them and you expect them to be injured all the time.

It is what it is until tye summer . Gotta plod on and make the best of it.

You would hope so, but after loosing to Forest and Leeds, hope the lads are not taking anything for granted here.

Must have the worst medical/sports conditioning dept in the league with this number of constant injuries.

Yep. Let's see how we start the game. Need Nunez and Mo to have their shooting boots on as can't see a goal coming from anywhere else. Let's get out the blocks quick and hit them hard

Don't get the comparison, what is anyone missing not having Curtis Jones on the pitch? What does he provide?

Wondering how much the World Cup beginning next weekend has to do with the team selection. Man City looking very ordinary today vs. Brentford. They'll probably find a winner but  still not looking too interested. I just thing this whole idea of breaking up the season is unsettling to all.

That said, it is vital for us to pick up 3 points today. This is the closest we've been all season to having something that seems like momentum. Let's keep it going.

Most busy that's for sure. We've 7 or 8 players in this squad you just know you can't rely on from one week to the next. Never available ... over a third of the squad

It's a fair comparison. Both are always injured. Both provide nothing. Both are unreliable. Both need shipping out.
