Ali, Trent, Robbo, Matip, Virgil, Fab, Hendo, Gini, Mo, Bobby, Sadio.

Those 11 never played together other than that game? That cannot be true.

Can't be true. Before the final possibly, but not after.

[Apparently Matip missed most of the following season. And then obviously Virgil missed most of the next one. (And then Gini left.) That is pretty amazing, cos that is our classic first choice 11 of Jürgen's time here. And he only got to field it once! Pretty amazing timing it was in the CL final.]

Yep, I read it the the other day and was absolutely astounded, even now it’s hard to get your head around, DLS must be gutted cos he missed that one, and he’s pretty much bang on when it comes to stats, did you have a day off Billy, or sh*t the bed ??

Unbelievable Stat, and epitomises just how special that final was, it’s just f***in mental !!!

Alisson, Trent, Matip, Virgil, Robbo, Hendo, Fabinho, Gini, Bobby, Mane, Salah,  inscribed to the memory banks, just like the Istanbul X1 in ‘05’.

When you read that line up, it’s as if they played week in week out 😳
Incredible stat, true as it is, I’m still having trouble registering it.

Tiny reason why half the players are currently looking shagged out.

Many disagreed with me when i mentioned this was one of the reasons you were under performing a while back.

I agree, last season took a lot out of the squad mentally and physically.

The year when we nearly won everything.
Perfectly encapsulates why so many are burned out.
14/15 games more than many other teams.

I'm mentally and physically tired reading this fatigue fantasy wheeled out yet again......Most of them have just had a month off!...It's a lame excuse and needs putting to bed.

It’s just a cheap excuse. Teams like City and Real also play a sh*t ton of games every year and don’t have the issues we do.

I think it’s human nature to want to coast after putting everything you had into the previous season. It’s draining.

Some teams are so talented that they can win year after year without putting in the sustained max effort. They can pace themselves more due to an abundance of talent. Other teams have to push themselves to the absolute limit to win, and they can’t keep that up year after year.

It's not a lame excuse when you haven't got the back up cover like City or Madrid have!!

I think we're in the general area of "Inventor's paradox" or attribute substitution here: In effect, a cognitively difficult problem is dealt with by answering a rather simpler problem. Liverpool's loss of form is computationally complex and therefore not easy to calculate, so to avoid the effort needed to solve it, we just simplify the problem and in this case decide it's tiredness.
