Been here for a little while now with a full pre season under his belt and hasn’t really kicked on at all.

Will be an interesting one for the new manager.

Aye. I like Cody, but like Diaz just looks levels below world class. And if you want to win, you need world class. Especially top end. Goals win games.

How many world class players do you think a first team should have

I'm sorry but what game were you watching if you think he didn't score?

You can't dress it up. Gakpo was sh*te and it was as good as playing with 10 men today. Tolerating such medocrity will see us back to 2015.

He did.. but he was wasteful in the game...thing is we all know that even if he's not on blob ...he still has the habit of making the difference when it matters..so as ineffective as he was...he was taken off too early, in a game we were only one goal up in, and the potential extra half hour.

      Edited

We didn’t lose the game today because of Gakpo

We lost because Nunez played a stupid ball , we lost because Quansah was out of position and we lost because we committed too many forward at the end and Kelleher let a sofr shot through

Salah was poor during the game

He offers no intensity, his work rate is suspect, he isn't strong and he's not fast. He doesn't score the big goals. He shoots when he should pass and he passes when he should shoot. He's technically average and his off the ball work is way off. A freeloader who scoops up the easy goals in easy matches at easy moments.

And yet some think Salah was as big a problem today? Let's not be stupid.

Is this the standard we should expect? I doubt anyone will be shedding tears if the new manager got rid. Because they should.

Can't argue with that his work rate worries.me and very ponderous with his decision making really not sure his best position as well.which is never a good sign

There's always an element of uncertainty when new players arrive, it's not guaranteed they'll all come good. I've said for a while Gakpo & Gravenberch are not bad footballers...they're just not good enough for us.

An abject player. Today was about fine margins, having the right players and a little more quality and we'd have won comfortably. With that in mind, Gakpo is absolutely the wrong player. Yes, I know he didn't bang in three own goals but doing absolutely nothing up front in times of desperate need is as bad as you can get for a striker. He can't do anything.... he has no pace, no intensity, no fight despite his physical presence. Whatever shooting boots he has is pointless because he's never involved.

Gakpo is a terrible indictment on letting the management have a say over signings rather than allowing the DoF to do their job. Lijnders is on record for saying he basically signed him, after today I wonder if this is the reason why FSG never even considered him as Klopp's successor. As worthwhile a reason in fairness.

It's atrocious displays like Gakpo - not just today but recently - which makes me breathe a sigh of relief that FSG are doubling down on the whole DoF structure when Klopp leaves and bringing Edwards back into the fold. Today is a perfect example of why that is needed more than ever and why the management must take the brunt for wasting good money on Gakpo.

In a very good team, players like Gakpo are the difference between winning a trophy and not winning a trophy. Sadly, he's the latter and he'll never offer anything at this club. I can only imagine Edwards and co were watching in disbelief at this performance, but also as vindication of why their DoF model needs implemented across the board.

Have to agree with the majority don't see a future for him.  Not a good starter and an even worst off the bench too many performances wasted on him, may as well invest that time on some of the young players.

      F***ing was.

As soon as Mo went off 10 Hag went 1 v 1 at the back and went for it knowing full well Cosy Coady and his partner in crime would contrive to not score no matter how easy they left it for them.

I don't know how he's getting game time above Danns at this point.

As poor as Gakpo was today it's folly to say he alone is to blame for the defeat. Robertson missed a sitter....The 5 against 2 breakaway..didn't even get a shot off...The Nunez blind pass leading to 3-3...loads of factors over the game.
We were lucky to get to extra time after Rashford's last minute miss.

Gakpo  was  culpable for 5v2 and Rashfords goal would.not have counted
