Chelsea’s new player is already looking the better player
I think he looks good/promising considering what he is offered in terms of creativity behind him (nothing at all). It's the old story of a team performing like sh*t and obviously the brunt of the criticism gets directed towards the people who's job is to score goals (the very end of the assembly line). It's understandable since they receive most of the praise whenever the team is playing well, but it doesn't make it any more logical or right in football terms.
I can't remember him being put in good scoring positions since joining us. A few shots here and there, but mostly out of his own creativity and from areas on the pitch where it's unlikely and unfair to expect a forward to score. Two games ago, our whole offensive game plan was to wait for the other team to lose the ball deep in our own half (emphasis on them losing it rather than us winning it) and punt it to the two isolated players that were him and Salah and watch them perform a miracle or else they are sh*t and don't deserve their wages.
Our forwards will start producing once we can keep hold of the ball for extended periods of time, apply a press that wins the ball high up the pitch and provide creativity to complement their runs. Until then its going to be the odd goal from one of them every 2 or 3 games and the same misguided frustration and criticism.
