That's it, enough of this sh*t, get the Arabs in  Part of me would hate this but the thought of some proper investment doesn't half make it tempting. The way the modern game is, the way the authorities have let it become, poses the dilemma of falling behind or joining the c*nts. Hopefully there is some kind of halfway house here where we don't go full on oligarch/oil state but still get the investment we need.

We don't even need oil money. We just need to go and tap in into the South American Market and pick up gems like other teams do. If City who are rich asf doing this, then why can't we so the same ? Heck even Newcastle are doing the same.

We are being left behind. Along with united.

      City ain’t going away.
Chelsea are a top manager away from competing.
      Newcastle will continue to improve.
Arsenal have taken our place as overachievers with young hungry players.

And United are leaving us behind too. Streets ahead of us this season on the pitch.

What I meant was that united and Liverpool are being left behind the elite.
Chelsea have just made £105m bid for another player.
      We can’t compete with that.
That would mean Chelsea have spent in the past 6 months what we have spent in the last 7 seasons I think.

It doesn’t matter so much to me if united are streets ahead of us because city and soon Chelsea and Newcastle will be light years away.

That’s where we all want to be. On the millennium falcon. Not wheeling and dealing for scraps dreaming of next year like Del Boy and Rodney Trotter.

FFP has failed. Nice concept but no balls to change things.

It will prove a long road back to the top the way this season is shaping, with only pride at stake, if Real Madrid knock us of the EC !

If? The question is by how many if we do not improve drastically.

No such thing as FFP anymore is there Bob. It may not be officially scrapped but it is.  It won’t be just United & Liverpool though will it. The divide is going to be Hugh at the current rate. Chavs spending recently gone to new level.   :f_doh:

The divide will be like it is for every Scottish team other than rangers and Celtic.

I feel for FSG in a way because I think it FFP was implement properly they would be excellent owners. Busy sadly the only business model that seems to bring constant success is the lottery winner method of spend spend spend spend.

Depends what Arabs your referring to. The rich one's are busy at work denying basic human rights to multitudes of their populations, and the poor ones are being savaged by Israel's "defence" policies.

You know the biggest nightmare is getting Arab owners and finding out they are just a skint as the FSG. That would be an ultimate nightmare ;D.

I'd be happier seeing us 9th (or lower still) than having to look up to the owner sitting in the main stand, knowing that same person was an integral member of a ruling State elite that sanctioned( or even turned a blind eye to...) the execution and torture of innocent people.
I'm still baffled how people are equating Gulf ownership with a guaranteed path to success. As more and more clubs are owned and backed with endless resources of cash, those days of one or two clubs sitting at the top of the league every year vanishes.
An analogy: Let's say The Premier league is made up of 15 sporty cars of broadly equal performance, 3 cars are bangers, and 2 cars are supercars at the cutting edge of technology. The 2 supercars are owned by people who can never run out of money...ever. They replace the supercars with other supercars every season they will continue to dominate. But what happens when those other 15/18 cars are replaced with supercars?....Well the first two supercar's days of guaranteed dominance are gone. No club will have that dominance that exists now. The whole league is then owned by men from countries where ordinary people, like you and me, get killed, often for nothing more than articulating an opinion.

Some wouldn’t be bothered if Pol Pot was in our stands as long as we were competing.

Personally I don’t think we can compete without investment and depending on whether we have just lost or not can alter my stance.

When I think about it I’d much rather FSG stayed in but FFP was sorted out.
