Manchester City 4-1 Liverpool: In game and Post Match discussion
      Apr 01, 2023 11:30:22 am

      Etihad Stadium

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Elliott, Jota, Salah, Gakpo

Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Milner, Firmino, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tsimikas, Nunez, Arthur, Matip.

Liverpool make two changes for their return to action against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

Harvey Elliott and Jordan Henderson come back into the line-up in the only alterations made to the Reds’ side deployed against Real Madrid last time out.

James Milner and Darwin Nunez are the players replaced, both of whom are on the bench.

Rather see Nunez out there but might be carrying slight knock.

Just cant see Jota, as good as he is, bringing the same threat up top as Nunez.  Perhaps Jürgen thinks he'll be an even bigger threat later against tired legs. As Jotta wont give them the same threat, them legs wont be as tired as they might have been.

Still going for 0-2, as long as we don't start half asleep, and we press and harry all over the pitch.

He came back from a slight injury and we have a long week.

Once more unto the breach.  Going into this fully expecting zero points.  My main hope is that we make it competitive because we could quite easily be turned over if we don't go in with the right attitude.

Pity about Nunez but we've got a tough week so no need to risk it.

Haaland out. So their main predator is on the sick. Jota gets his chance, quick slippery player, gets in those tight places in the box, on the end of a Robbo cross. Hope he links up well with Gakpo.

He cut his foot against Madrid so only trained a couple of days.

Would have preferred Nunez over Jota but that lineup is about the best we can do.

Their bench doesn't worry me . We have a decent record against the bigger clubs no reason we can't get a positive result here today

I’m wondering if Bobby may have been a good option as he does get back and cover in midfield so well.
Could do with an extra man in there to help dominate due to our current form.

He wouldn’t anyway Gerns, different style of striker, Jota is quality he just needs a few games to find his mojo, we fans are too quick in castigating players who take longer to get back on form, especially after a long term injury,
Jota couldn’t find his arsed in a kilt last time out but he wasn’t the only one, the whole side has struggled this campaign as you know so anyone who is over critical of the Jota’s of this world need to give their heads a wobble, those returning from injury will take time to have a impact in games, especially when they are low in confidence,

Surprising that Wee Harvey starts, don’t get me wrong the lad is top notch but against a very strong City midfield I feel he’s a bit lightweight, however, I’m a slightly fat 61 year old nobody, happy to sit in my own sh*t pontificating over something I very clearly know F**k all about , but we all have opinions to share and that is mine,

Ecstatic that the ugly twins of Foden & Haaland are out, but they are still full of quality and we still have a mountain to climb, my dislike for these fraudsters is growing not quite to the point of their Scummy Fuckpig neighbours but the plastic oozing from this lot is toxic and is for me poisonous to the rest of the EPL,

NOT confident enough to say we can grab a win here, but I just want us putting in a good performance and build on that for the rest of the campaign, we’re not out of the top 4 as we type so a draw wouldn’t be a bad return considering a early KO, and coming off a international break .

      Still going for Desmond, 2-2

      Hope over Fear !! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
