I could only listen to second half on live score audio.
The commentator made it sound like we were getting battered 🤷‍♂️

Is that correct or did we do better than he made it sound.

Massive relief to hear final whistle in them circumstances.
      Great 3 points though

I had to go with Trent for motm as I could only see the first half. He was bossing that mid then.
Think I heard Declan Rice mentioned about 3 times.

Moyes whinging over the penalty incident with Thiago. Moyes claimed he lunged, lost control and his arm prevented a through ball. Claims VAR should've sent the ref over for a second look. But you see these 'hand ball' claims all the time, can't start giving penalties every time the ball brushes a players arm from 2 feet.

It could've gone against us if Thiago was closer to our goal and he stopped a shot in that way but VAR is human and will get things wrong. It was maybe 60/40 in our favour. VAR hasn't eliminated bad calls or unjust results.

We got away with one against Leeds but all teams get bad calls. Some worse than others.

We seemed to be comfortable in the second half didn't really need to do much else.

MOTD: shearer - no pen, Wrighty - pen.

It’s such a 50/50 call and we would all be going mental if it was the other way round. At last, a bit of luck our way.

Thiago was falling and in that motion the ball deflected off his foot and his arm fell onto the ball. Nothing he could do, entirely natural, and not at all a pen in my opinion.

His arm was in that position to soften his fall, not to touch the ball, it’s never a penalty in a million years, totally natural arm position… is he suppose to just fall on his side and smack his head into the ground?

Totally agree. I can't understand why anyone would think it was a pen? It was clearly not a deliberate handball. I think the thick gobshites on BT Sport and Moyes doing his Gollum stare at the end helped create a debate where there wasn't one to be had.

I doubted Gakpo but he proved worthwhile. Took his goal brilliantly.

What a bullet header from Matip. At least, we won one in that ugly shirt.

Plenty of lads in the frame for MOTM which is telling.

Fazakerly, I honestly thought it was gonna be given, first dibs it looked a pen, but the replay shows it in a different light, however I think we’d all be pissed off too had been the other end, …..where was he suppose to put his arm, it was in a natural position when the ball hit it, he didn’t move his arm towards the ball….so no pen…and the Correct decision….

….bit of a weird one for me, at times we looked like we were running thru treacle, other times the pace was spot on, in my pre match post I thought Thiago should have started, and he should have, there was more cohesion when he came on, before it was a bit haphazard, sometimes players got in each other’s way, or it looked like it did, too much side to side stuff, and my biggest frustration is too much f***in about at the back, we need to be better and quicker clearing up defensively,

Thought their goal was superb, that Paqueta fella is worth keeping a eye on, and Bowen lit himself up for interest as well, their goal seemed to kick us up the arse a bit and from there I thought it inevitable we would score, but once we did I was thinking we could run riot now, we didn’t obviously but we were in control and fairly comfortable,

Still in favour of Trent going walkabout but not all the time, again we seen last night it caused some confusion or even some doubt in players minds, so it needs tweaking and some fine tuning yet, but it is a valuable asset to have, Moyes alluded to how he wasn’t sure how to set up against it in his pre match interview so if causes so other managers will have the same worries, that is fine by me….

Like most I was concerned chuckin Joel back in but more humble pie for me, thought he was superb and my MAN of the match,  oh look wokey’s I used the word ‘man’ I really hope you are offended !!

Along with Trent he was superb and that bullet header was just sublime, timed to perfection, no f**ker was saving that, again Gakpo showing why he for me he is a very clever addition, his touch, his vision, has pace, can obviously shoot, Klopp doesn’t sign sh*te players, end of, and Cody for sure is another stroke of genius, he’s still remember in his initial season as too is Darwin, and both next season will flourish,

Wasn’t a vintage performance but we did what was necessary and got the job done, another win, another 3 points and moving in the right direction, we got Spuds next, their in a bit of chaos so a very good time to play them and rub more salt in, we’re in 6th a point behind Villa with a game in hand, win that we’re only 3 points behind Toon & the Scummy Fuckpigs, albeit they’ll have two and or 3 games in hand over us respectively,  but with most either fighting for survival or European football,  points can be dropped, it’s a tough ask to reach 4th but not impossible and until it’s mathematically impossible I’m not giving up on us getting there,

      WE GO AGAIN !!

F**k the f***in Toffees, them cu*ts have been chewing on the EPL bone far too long, surviving for years on f***in scraps, I hope these Cnuts do a Leeds and drop like a ton of sh*t, top 4 for us while not impossible is still unlikely, a win for Toon might be a bridge to far for us, but the joy of seeing Blueshite on the edge of the abyss is tremendously welcoming and dare I say equally exciting  :f_whistle:
