Very interesting that Joyce is saying we are going after him. Joyce tends to not report things until they are well underway. Who knows. Brighton may very well try to bend us over though which means we'll likely move on to a "cheaper" alternative.

That's what makes me excited. The fact that he represents someone who I could see us signing in 2016, 2017, 2018, the golden age of transfer signings for us! A player like Macallister would help renew us in the long term (and keep Jürgen on our touchline for the long term as well!)

I think he’s a natural fit. Offers a bit of a goal threat but can also play deeper. He can play as a 10 or in a double pivot, and I think he will be very well suited to being an 8 in our 433 and he should also suit playing in the Jones/Hendo role in the new formation. He works hard and just does everything well. Wages shouldn’t be too high either whereas they could be double if we went for Mount.

Think it would be a very very good signing , been impressed with him when I have seen him play.

It’s the perfect fit to be honest, can imagine he’s very happy to join for a number of reasons (a clear space for him, prestige, Klopp and of course fellow South Americans).

Well in excess of 70m.

So maybe that means 80 maybe it means 90 who knows.

Either way, this whole "we can't afford Jude plus other players" is going to fall on it's face if we have to pay 80 for someone like Mac Allister.

On to option 3 I suppose.
