      45m I am happy with

I don’t believe he is a 60-70m player which is what I was saying we can do Better cheaper

He will be a good player, not great but I think I reliable 7-8/10 every week

Looks like it’s a done deal, just about the bells & whistles now, he’s quality of that there is no doubt, but I think he’ll benefit from the Klopp factor too, Jürgen typically will get more out of him than say Pep G would, with any player under Jürgen’s tenure, add 12%, there’s a plethora of players who had ‘very good’ status before working under Jürgen and have became ‘world class’ after, since 2015….Robbo, Trent, Virgil, Fab, Bobby, Mane, Mo, @ BvB, Reus, Gotske, Gundogan, Lewandowski, Hummels, to name one or five,

Not a bad resume as our mates over the pond would say Y’all, @ £60m on a five year deal sounds like very astute business, for the brainless and non scientists amongst us that equates to £12m a year, about a normal spend for FSG, Just saying 🫣, rumour has it that JW has locked himself in a padded cell complete with straight jacket, grid iron shoulder pads, crash helmet, elbow and knee pads and is currently rebounding off the walls until the window closes, and Linda’s just had her tits done………………………………again, this time she’s having them removed from her kneecaps,

Anyhoo, Mac the knife is imminent and I hope we go and get his wee mate Caicedo to keep him company, get him in for a similar price and that’ll be half the apparent budget gone, and dare I say very good business at that !!

So Alex in and we await the next piece of the new jigsaw, so far so good, but like any new face, I’ll hold the celebrations until he’s holding a scarf above his head in a official club picture , at the Kop end of course??

£45 Million? A relative bargain in the current market.

Couldn't care less what the fee is if Klopp thinks he can turn him into a star, let's get him.

But do agree that for under 45m (which is what I just read it might be) it seems like really good business even if some people don't rate him as highly as others.

Honestly only time will tell if a player is "worth" their transfer fee so not too much use getting too torn up about it until they've kicked a few balls.

I’ll save this statement for future reference ‘Slimfast’, cos, you know and I know it’s likely to come back and haunt you, our club, the greatest in English football history are making strides to get back to dominance, or at the very very least, give you’re noisy neighbours a proper title race,

No other club can get as close to them as we can, and have surpassed them, twice within 1 point, 11cm’s and a few dodgy refereeing or VAR decisions were the only differences between us and titles 21 & 22, Arse tried and failed, Chavs have completely capitulated, Spuds are no where near & toon are still in nappies, and you’re f***in lot are doing the usual flattering to deceive,

I might be puffing my chest out here but I’m telling you now, you’re lot come next May will need binoculars to look up our arse, next season we’ll see a more familiar look and feel, a proper race, with 4 main contenders, City, us, Arse & Toon, enjoy yer scrap with those other specialist’s  in mediocrity Chavs N Spuds.

Agreed mate, only Klopp can go toe to toe with City. United were lucky we were sh*te (and still able to smash them 7-0).

Back to normal next season. I have no doubts.

From feb ... but let's say its upto date. Does that translate to:

'Liverpool had more wrong decisions against them that had to be corrected by var than any other team' ? And 'If not for var  Liverpool would have been incorrectly 6 points worse off ... more than any other team' ?

It's a no brainer if the fee is as reported. His link up player is very good, he works hard, his fitness record is good and it's a solid start to our midfield rebuild.

Glad this is done nice and early. As far as I can tell we are the first team to complete an actual transfer before the window opens. Some teams completed free agent signings but that's different. Nice to see us completing some of our business as early as we can since we have a lot to do this summer and certainly some of will require more time than other. The reported fee is also nice because it leaves budget to complete other transfers. I'm not sure I would as confident about signing another 2 midfielders  and then a defender or two if that deal had ended up being a 70m one.

With that said, good player who I think will be able to help us pretty quickly. Quality, already knows the league and seems to possess a lot of the qualities we've missed in midfield all season.

      Welcome, Alexis!

If under 50M great signing. World cup winner, in his peak, tidy, can score from outside the box (finally), prem proven, and best of all has a bit of grit about him. Great start to the window.

Has the look of Mr consistency when I've watched him play but also has moments of real class. I think he could significantly improve our rhythm just by being a solid 7/10 at most things and by being an intelligent footballer. Also if you look at his stats he has gradually become more productive as he has progressed. It is good business signing a world cup winning midfielder for half the price of his Argentina teammate.

      Excited about this signing!

Someone who I think can slot in and take our play up a notch with ease,  not hard considering how bad we have been in midfield but think him and Trent could control games with ease together.

I said a few pages back that he looks like a new version of Gini -- and I used to refer to him as Mr Reliable.  If Mac can do for us what Gini did, then it will be 50M well spent!!

Winning and playing well in the final of the  World Cup is an important test that he can handle the pressure that comes with playing for us. It is an important aspect.

He will be good player. A player that is good to replace Gini, about time.
