He's a number 10 yes, and that's where he was out of this world in the first three months of this year, but the controller role he is playing now is priceless.
Watching the replay of the WH game on the club channel, and always appreciate the game much better after seeing it repeated as the emotions during the game as it's happening makes it harder to do so. Mac ran that midfield and did so at his own pace. It's fitting its Ronnie Whelan commentating as he too played the role Mac is doing for us now. Control away from home especially is massive. Dom gives us energy, but Mac gives us control (Grav gives us thrust, and being so press resistant Curtis ensures we keep the ball).
Mac is easily the most underappreciated player in the team, especially so given he is playing in his lesser deeper position for the good of the team.
