If this gets done it shows the lads commitment to us considering Leipzig are in the Champions league

Do you mean cheaper than Bellingham or more expensive because with the amount of players out that’s not even close to an issue

I've said this in other threads but I find this potential signing so exciting.

Can't say I've watched Leipzig on a regular basis, but every time I did watch them (more recently in the German cup final), he's been excellent. So many classy touches and passes, and a fair amount of defensive work as well, for an attacking player.

Not sure how Klopp intends to lineup the team with him and Mac Allister but I'm all for this.

I couldn't find a 'season heatmap' for him in the Bundesliga, but in recent games, he's played a lot on the right side - he also did so in the German Cup final I mentioned.

This is his season heatmap in last season's Champions League, which seems to confirm that:

I'm not really interested in the names.

Yes I wanted quality like Bellingham and Rice who I feel would have made us challengers again. But ultimately I'm looking for 3 things. 1 being the issues in the squad are addressed and 2 Jürgen gets the players he wants that he feels can push us up the league. 3 being the sale of assets who are clearly not upto it whilst we can get money for them. Then reinvest. We can't have passengers here.

If we get those 3 things then I'm happy. Then we need to deliver.

TAW had a "Games played per position" that is similar to this where he can play anywhere across attacking midfield but
looks predominantly Right Attacking Mid that also looks to overlap into the wide areas.
So that Elliott / Salah relationship but to another level.

His scouting report from fbref also gives some insight into the kind of player he is, and how he compares to other attacking midfielders/wingers in the top 5 leagues: a player who is on the ball frequently and is top-tier in pretty much every passing metric, including dead balls (free kicks, corners, etc). A fair amount of defensive work for an attacking player, particularly adept at blocking passes, and a very good amount of tackles in the middle and attacking thirds of the pitch - hopefully this indicates an ability to put opponents under pressure, which is so vital for how we play. Not much of a dribbler, he does carry the ball frequently but not for long distances, often bringing the ball from the middle to the attacking third of the pitch, then looking to release the ball.

To be honest if the club gets Mac Allister and Szoboszlai then it'll be the first time that two players I actually
wanted the club to sign will have been actually signed, so for me anything after that is a bonus.

Sure I'd still like to see us get someone like Thuram in before the end of the summer and maybe cover at CB.

But heading into preseason with Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, for me, is a statement of intent from the club
that Liverpool are back challenging for everything next season.

It also pretty much confirms Klopp changing to a box midfield is permanent.

Excited to see how it unfolds next season.

Very interesting and yeah should be such an upgrade on Elliott. This should help Salah particularly if TAA ends up playing more centrally, as his passes down the right have always been a very effective way of feeding Salah.

Found his heatmap for the whole Bundesliga season which confirms what you've said:

Quite interesting to see his versatility, for example in earlier seasons he seemed to play as more of a left sided attacking midfielder, cutting inside as he's right footed.

This is 2019/20 in the Austrian Bundesliga:

That's what this guy pretty much says here.
He can play on the left and cut in side to shoot.
