LFC Captain 2023-24

If, as seems increasingly likely, Hendo moves to the Saudi Pro League, who should be captain this season?

I know that VVD seems the obvious choice.  But I prefer Andy Roberston.

It’ll be VVD for sure. I’d expect Robbo and either Trent or Ali to be 3rd in line.

The player vote for the three leadership players don’t they?

Virgil and then Alisson.

I suspect they will have a vote and the Capts group will be

Robbo
Allison
TAA
Mo
Also think we could see Dom Szoboszlai being involved

Coming off the back of a poor season I'm not sure captaincy is what Virgil needs right now but I do agree that it's almost certain to be him.

Robbo for vice captain and then Ali/Mo/Trent to complete the leadership group.

It'll be Virgil then Allison I'd imagine.

I would love to see Trent with the armband although I agree it probably makes more sense for it to be Virgil.

I'd say will be VVD. With TAA next in line.

I am going to get sh*t for this, but my gut tells me VVD is the wrong call. He is a great speaker sure but recently he has let inconsistency creep into his game, at times he seems lazy or out of position. I wanted to give it Trent but for the same reasons I cannot, the captain needs to lead by example so for me it would be Ali, Robbo or Mo, the three of them are arguably our most consistent players and all have been at the core of this team the longest (outside of the other two I mentioned).

In the future, Trent for me will be captain no doubt, but for now it's too soon. I also think we could see a different beast in Salah if he was given the honor of leading us as captain week in week out.

Has to be Trent for me, Virgil, Robbo, Ali all ideal contenders, but that trio i can’t see being here for the next ten yrs, but I do envisage Trent being like our Previous Scouse Captain a one club player, his maturity is beginning to shine now after his early years and I don’t believe there is anyone else best suited for the role,

As has been said previously at Liverpool, within the Squad there are many leaders, those three above as well as Jimmy before becoming a seagull, and those three would respect Trent if indeed he took the armband, it’s a no brainer imo,

Jordan remains our Skipper for now, but Trent I hope takes us through the next ten yrs .

Mo Salah. He's earned it with consistent performances. And he more than deserves it. Don't be stupid and not do it.

If theyre stupid and dont reward Mo, then Robbo for me. Trents time will come.
