I think we're going too fast. We still aren't even sure Hertha Berlin (or insert any other German club of your choice) isn't going to hijack the deal and sign him instead.

What I love the most about this deal is his age. Right up there in the age range you look for when rebuilding.

All jokes aside, I hope he's one of those hidden gems of an underrated player and most importantly, I hope he's the first of two transfers for that position.

I remember he played well for Japan at the World Cup finals last year as the holding midfielder.

I'd rate him a decent player, but no more than that.

We lost a lot of experience when Hendo, Milner and Fabinho left, so from that perspective it makes a lot of sense to bring in someone his age. Still surprised by the supposed link, however.

And also expect that he's someone to hold the fort until we bring in someone else to be the everyday starter.
