FL, wind your neck in, dick head. Endo is the best player on the team and you know it. Let me guess, you rate Salah??? Pshhhh....

But seriously, I like Endo coming on when the players on the pitch are void of energy. That kid will do everything in his power to get us over the line. Sure he's a bit clumsy from time to time, but he's gonna get stuck in and leave it all out there to get us over the line. Love em for that

Agree on both counts, runs about like a headless chicken and puts it all in. However, at best he’s a sub player and I’m doing him a favour at that.

He’d start every week for every bottom half team bar Spurs.

Definitely not a starter. He doesn't have the legs.

His attitude and effort is first class, but he lacks the mobility in the role he plays because to be an effective destroyer means getting tackles in and tracking runners. He has no chance of doing that from the start against these athletes, and even against Wolves, despite coming on to face players who had 70 minutes in their legs he still struggled at times to keep up with them. Paul Machin from Redmen TV who was at the game was amazed at some of the reviews he was getting as he says he always seemed to be a yard behind players, or holding a shirt, giving away a free (conceded two).

From the first game I've seen him he has reminded me of 37 year old Milner. Again, great attitude. A 100% pro. But at that end stage was a bit like a bull in a china shop at times with late challenges (and bookings galore) as he just couldn't get to his man on time. With Endo we get similar. The will is there, and he is the one midfielder we have who loves a challenge as it comes naturally to him, but not quick enough.

Do think he has a role, but it's a specific role very late in games if we look uncomfortable and need an enforcer. The Wolves game, you don't want to be emulating that again as bringing him on with so much time left means you have longer to defend. When you bring on an Endo you are basically saying 'what we have we try to hold', but 25 minutes is a long time for that set up.

A better option vs Wolves would have been to bring on Chiesa for that left side, and keep Dom central. That way you keep two positions strong and push Wolves back not invite them on, and we did the latter with those changes. Dom contributed nothing out of position on the left, and vacating the middle also weakened us there. It was a double whammy. The other wing being 32 year old Mo meant we wouldn't be pushing them back there either. We ceased forward progression and allowed Wolves to come at us. It was a mess and we got away with it.

I liked this DC but it's pity we have a tired grandpa at LB, a young CB and a young RB who has to eye running further up to provide attacking support so only a choice is to put Endo in trying to survive a worn ship in a storm.

Maybe we should aim for our subs being good enough to start for top half teams. Just a thought.

You're so tiresome now. Literally every other post you're demanding and dragging FSG up for failing to strengthen in depth like you are in the Gomez thread following his injury. Now when we've got two viable bench options in Endo and Chiesa you call them mingebags. Just realise how utterly stupid you're appearing and infantile at the same time.

Grow up and try to think before you post your laughable contradictions.

We've done so well this season so far, playing really good sensible football and yet there are people like you only ever happy when you're moaning. Only ever finding negatives even when the negatives aren't there. You can't celebrate a win as a win. You have to go looking for something to moan about. It's pathetic. You're not a supporter, you're just coming across as a sad WUM.

I'd say a few of them are, if the aim is for all 9 to be....then that's where it gets a little sticky.

Went back and watched some of his second half performance and hold my hand up, I admit I may have been a bit harsh on him. I still don't like that he gave the free kick away right outside our box towards the end, but he did frustrate Cunha quite a bit and made life harder for him as well as making some really good close downs towards the end. I do still think many on here overrate him a good deal, but I don't have any issue with him staying around even if it's only for bit parts like we saw the other day. By all accounts he's a great teammate and a consummate professional.

Our subs also start for us so why wouldn’t they start for other top half teams

He's what we've got from now until the end of the season.

He's a bit clumsy and not the best passer of the ball but he still has qualities that our other central midfielders don't have. It was absolutely the right call to bring him on Sunday and I think we looked more solid for it. Our worst spell of the game was certainly the 30 minutes before Endo came on, not the time after.

Chiesa managed to look poor vs Plymouth, really not sure how he would be a better option than almost anyone to be honest.
Arne put Endo on to do a job vs Wolves, and he did it well.  The free kick he 'gave away' on the edge of the box near the end, the Wolves guy basically fell into him, didn't think it was a free, not to Wolves anyway. That was the most dangerous one, and Endo deffo does give away more frees than you would like, but sometimes, slowing down and breaking up the flow of [opposition] play is what is needed, especially like when we're giving the ball away as cheaply and playing as poorly as we were vs Wolves.

Once upon a time we had Christian Poulsen I suppose so Endo not too bad.

If we're winning with the last 20 minutes left on the clock, I would sub him in every match to solidify the midfield and let him bulldog every player and ball coming next to the middle of the park.

I agree. But imo he needs to be used more than that. We cant keep flogging the same midfield 3 , 3 games a week. Endo and Jones need to be used more, plus Elliott.

I totally agree that they needed to be used. Jones has the confidence of the manager to start games, Endo is seen as a player to close the game. Elliott has not showed this manager what he can offer. I will only use Harvey if we need a goal in the last 15 minutes of the match.

Not a starter, but a decent squad player- does a job, I have a feeling Slot doesn't think highly of him though.

if we do get a no6 at some point, he'll be gone.

Decent squad player is right Kev. No harm having him on the bench till we (hopefully) get a specialist DM in the summer...
