Liverpool 3-0 Brentford: In game and Post Match discussion
      Nov 12, 2023 01:01:10 pm

      Anfield is set.

      https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1723678513486553193

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Tsimikas, Endo, Szoboszlai, Gakpo, Jota, Salah, Nunez.

Subs: Kelleher, Diaz, Elliott, Chambers, Scanlon, Doak, McConnell, Quansah, Nyoni.

Liverpool make seven changes for today’s Premier League encounter with Brentford at Anfield.

Virgil van Dijk returns in defence following illness to captain the Reds, with only Wataru Endo, Cody Gakpo, Joel Matip and Kostas Tsimikas retaining their berths from the midweek Europa League tie with Toulouse.

Sixteen-year-old Academy prospect Trey Nyoni is among the substitutes.

No Elliott, bit surprised but it's very attacking obviously.

Look at our attack, wow! Look at our bench, shocked! Elliott and Diaz to change the game if needed.

      Come on Reds.

Each team is the same. Too much games.

      We need to be clinical.

Front 3 look deadly. Hope Endo stands up to be counted today. Hod knows he has enough experience.
If we are struggling it’s always good to have Elliot there to bring some energy later on. When he comes on he seems to raise everyone’s effort .
Let’s heat the crowd today as well. Need to give the lads a lift in games like this !

What does Harvey need to do to start a game?

Looks like our squad is already running thin.

We're at home - let's hope for a noisy ground as when the crowd gets going it seems to inject some pace into the team and we play quick decisive football.
Suspensions and injuries not helping us  - altho expect to see Diaz and Elliot and at least one of the others (maybe Quansah - who I am beginning to feel is going to be a star) at some point (hopefully when we're a few goals up!)

Need Endo to produce a performance today and the Greek Scouser needs to remember he's wearing a Liverpool shirt and concentrate.
If Cody and Dom are at the races we should be OK as we have lots of firepower up front although we need not to underestimate Brentford like we did Luton and Toulouse!

Very attacking! Wasn’t too sure on Gakpo last time he played that AM role, hopefully he’s worked on it since…

Endo needs to have a good game too, pretty much every other player bar the defence is attacking, so he’ll need to be all other them…

Matip and Kostas are my only worries here, if Endo does let anything through, I worry about Matip has he’s looked a little lethargic, and Kostas just hasn’t been at the races at all…

Gonna be a tough 2-1 I think, unless Super Darwin shows up today then it could be something silly like a 5 niller.

It wasn't noisy a fortnight ago on Sunday at 2pm.  Absolutely dire atmosphere for some weekend games these days.  Sooner they get people in that Anny Road the better IMO.

Going to have deny Brentford any set pieces - it’s their main attacking threat.

f***in shocker that bench, the kind of bench you see in the early rounds of the gab reirrac  cup, in reverse ??

anyhoo it is what it is and we should still have enough in the starters to get the job done, not easy by any stretch, but I reckon Jürgen has laid down the law, no more substandard performances, with the dreaded international break imminent it could provide much need rest & recuperation for some,

Need to win this, Fraudsters at Chavs so pivotal we close that gap, and we have the KUNTS next, be nice Kicking Off against them level, worse case scenario is a six point gap…..or worse !!

Endo 5/1 to be carded in the game. I can't let that value go!!

Need to out compete these and then the quality difference should show through.

Any hint of the indifference we showed against Luton and Tolousse we can forget 3 points.

The bench minus Harvey and Luis looks frighteningly low on realistic options.

Yeah and puts Matip under a heavy workload. With only 2 midfielders Trent will play higher to make up the numbers in mid, Matip will cover the space.

Cody will drift all over the line. Jota will buzz about trying to finish it off. Nunez obviously needs to seriously up his chance/conversion ratio...think it's about 1 in 50 or so...
