Curtis Jones returns to the starting line-up for Liverpool's clash with Manchester City this lunchtime.

The midfielder is one of two changes made by the Reds from their last outing against Brentford earlier this month, with Alexis Mac Allister back after serving a one-match ban.

Ryan Gravenberch, Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate are among the substitutes.

City XI: Ederson, Walker (C), Akanji, Dias, Ake, Rodrigo, Bernardo, Foden, Doku, Alvarez, Haaland.

Please just win so I can continue to celebrate massively this weekend.

Going to be a very difficult game against these plus the manc in the middle. Nothing less than a perfect performance will be enough and if they start sloppy today it will be over by half time. Need to be on it from the off.

Like the look of the team. I'd have gone with Grav over jones . Klopp has alot of faith in Jones ... let's see what he can do today.

I think this could go either way, with a heavy score line either way… we show up and every forward is on sync, could very well win 3-0… but at the same time our defence worries me, especially with MacA in front of them, there’s just no pace in it… so could easily be 3-0 to them… at their sh*te empty stadium too… so hopefully all you’ll hear is our glorious away support to push us to a win…

Also, Doku vs Trent scares the sh*t out of me…

Trent needs to be all over doku. He's quick and he's dangerous. Can't afford to leave him in space.

This is certainly a good gauge today for where 2.0 is in its progression.

Ibou would bring a bit more pace, but to be fair Matip has seen some good form lately.
Full backs always a worry. Missing Robbo and Trent shifting inside doesn’t help with not covering the rb spot.
Would Grav be a better option to Mac in the holding roll 🤷‍♂️ who knows ?
Jones has clearly impressed in training to get the nod, and the three up top, just what I wanted to see.

Now show the boss he made the right choices and go out and hammer the cheats.

Obviously our toughest test to date, and I think we’re up for it, City have a plethora of class players so no surprises and we have to expect a proper battle, preparation is key and @ 12.30 we’re never at our best, however that’s a added challenge and once we’ve got going I think we’ll manage whatever is thrown at us, I’m quietly confident and reckon we’ll do them !!

Don't think he rates Jones over Grav necessarily  just Jones offers more protection for the back 4 Grav will replace.him if we are behind

Trent will have to hold his position much more today. Jones will have to double up with Kostas. Macca will have to be on high alert. Going to have to work work work and hit them on the break.
