By his standards though, his balls out where poor today, which is weird from him.

Couple of crucial saves for me, thought he milked when they scored 2nd goal.

Did VAR save us on the slight arm contact with Ali. They've always protected the keeper but it could've been given. Looked like Ali miss timed his jump slightly. Was he impeded....50/50 that one. Got the benefit.

      Think you’re right mate.

Got to say Doku was their best attacker, slippery player. Caused us no end of bother from start to finish. Mo helped out but he got the drop 3/4 times. Hard player for any defender to keep out.

      Think he’s the real deal.

      Great point away from home.
They have strong record there and we haven't been at our best in away games this season, plus it being after an Intl break, and an early game, I thought they would edge it to be honest.

Ally had a few ropey moments with distribution, and with attention from corners, but they pressure the ball well - he also made some important saves.  Hope his injury isn't going to have him missing games.

Thought we defended well all things considered, and had to soak it up a bit at times. Matip carried the ball well sometimes, and what a strike from Trent, that's what he can do further up the pitch - did OK at the other end too  given what was up against.

In the middle Jones's passing went astray a bit but don't think we were outgunned there, thought we went forward as much as they did. Not sure why Gravenberch didn't start. Endo slowing things down nicely when he came on, starting to grow into things gradually.

Up front didn't think Mo had his best day, especially 1st half, and Jota didn't contribute much at all.
Darwin had a fair few chances and either dawdled, or just didn't put his foot thro it/make the keeper work hard enough from tight angles. But he never stops trying and was best of the front three imho.

We used our subs very well, Jürgen was proactive in making changes, bit of a concern at the end there with 5 used and Ally holding his hamstring, but we held on.

Need to practice corners, cause the keeper seemed to gather most of them, or they won it.  We had a decent few, but can't recall doing anything with any of them which isn't great given we have decent height in there. Recall Darwin getting a header on target, but think that was from a free.

Foden the runt had a pathetic dive at one point, few of them did, but was justice when Akangi went down in the middle holding his head from another NOTHING challenge and the ref blew up as they were on the attack, them all moaning, hands in the air :) tw*ts

Not sure what Darwin was riled up about at the end, but nice to see him have a wee go at Pip.

Really really important point, for the table, for our belief in how we can challenge this season, and maybeget us back on track in away games. Delighted with it :)

It is the same when Salah doesn't score.

Great result and quality goal from Trent. Thought we played well today and stopped them being in any way dominate.

Deserved the point. First half was crap, and second half not much better, but City were pretty awful then too.

Both teams perhaps struggling after the break. As Klopp said himself, imagine if we had actually played well? Seemed to be down to attitude. Too many players not at the races and not giving it their best.

Nunez didn't do much wrong. As always, when he misses a 'chance' they over exaggerate and milk it as a massive screw up. Haaland missed more chances today. Nunez hardly had anything to work with. The only criticism I had of him is he was too quick to run offside. Not enough thought in his runs.

Ali was pretty poor. Several times he put himself in trouble with his clearances and kicks.

Jones was Jones. The 'scouser' that gets to play for his local club.

Salah was super quiet. Couldn't beat a man.

McAllister did nothing positive and is starting to look like a poor buy.

Trent.. what a finish lad! Seemed quiet himself but did well to deal with Doku (except a few occasions) and got us the point. We never looked like scoring so glad he stepped up.

Carra can do one pretending that we were lucky to see the foul on Ali given as a foul. The guy is pathetic at times.

I don't get how people are acting like we "got lucky" with the Alisson decision?

We’ve all watched football for multiple decades.

We’ve seen weaker challenges being given as a foul on keepers week after week, year after year.

But suddenly TODAY, all the pundits have decided that it’s ’soft’ and Liverpool are lucky, so now everyone just repeats it.

No, the goal was never going to be given, he pushed on Alisson when he was jumping for the ball. It would be HIGHLY irregular if any ref would have let something like that slide.

We've literally lost one game in the last 24 in the league, and that defeat was a dodgy one against Spurs. We also have the 2nd best defense in the league by one goal.

So, as much negative talk and gloom and doom there is about every minor thing we do.... So far, we are very much on Championship form.

In fact, we are due a dip.

Interesting how we all see it different. I’ve read a few posts about how poor Mac was (I’ll ignore the rubbish he was a poor buy) but I saw the opposite today. Against probably the best pressing team in the world right now he stood tall and kept the ball really well. For someone who’s not a natural 6 I thought he was great.

Also Gakpo’s off the ball work for Trent’s goal was class.

Wouldn't be surprised if Pep said something about Haaland record in relation to Nunez. But I doubt City fans are impressed with his whinging over the noise levels at the Etihad.

Seemed to escalate very quickly. 0.3 seconds!!  ;D So there must have been a word that caused offence.

Expect it was about Nunez not scoring
