Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal: In game and Post Match discussion
      Dec 23, 2023 04:30:21 pm

Anfield hosting the Gunners to go top of the league

Liverpool FC Starting XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Endo, Jones, Szoboszlai; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz

Liverpool's Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Nunez, Elliott, Gravenberch, Clark, McConnell, Quansah, Bradley.

Liverpool make five changes for this evening's Premier League encounter with Arsenal at Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate return in defence, with Alisson Becker restored in goal.

Meanwhile, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah are back in attack, while Ryan Gravenberch is named among the substitutes.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has named his starting XI to face Arsenal in today’s Premier League encounter at Anfield.

The Reds will look to secure three points against the Gunners, who have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of the previous 15 top-flight meetings, conceding 43 goals during that run.

Liverpool are undefeated in 10 home league games against Arsenal, winning seven and drawing three.

A victory will see Liverpool usurp their title rivals as they lie 3rd with 38 points, just one point behind Mikel Arteta’s men.

Pretty much the team I would have gone for. Only debate for me was Diaz or Nunez.

I don’t think we are going to lose this one and I think we’re much more likely to win than lose. A draw wouldn’t be bad but I think we can win this if we’re on it. We need to be on it though or we could get punished. Need the crowd to be up for it and I think they will be.

Won't deny I am feeling the wobbles a bit about this one! They're a good side - but then so are we!
Although to not get a result is not catastrophic, I am hoping that the boys are all on the top of their game and that the crowd raises the roof for the entire match.
Nunez, Grav and Elliott to come off the bench as well as Joe is another positive - so far Kloppy has got his subs right this season I think
AND it would be wonderful to see Troy Tempest have another meltdown on the touchline!

That 11 is as expected imho.
Really poor vs Utd, but much better against the Hammers.
Need more from the front lads, simple as that, Mo, Diaz, Gapko, and Nunez if comes off the bench. Midfield and even defense have chipped in with goals recently.
The league is there to be won this year, if we [or anyone] can just put some kind of a run together.
Big game, but the way the league is up and down this year, not the be all and end all.
Jürgen has worked wonders to even be in the position we currently are, so a win would be brilliant, to be top for Christmas.

Well yes I would've gone Nunez Cody but we all see it differently. Could be Nunez will still play a major part.

Always worried now that Trent playing the inverted fullback, leaves that big space to be exploited.
I’d be happier to see Gomez at fb and let Trent stay in midfield spraying the balls about.
Other than that Diaz instead of Nunez.?
Not sure Diaz brings enough to the table.

God I hope I’m soooo wrong.

Diaz needs to improve and justify his place. Nunez will have an important role to play in the second half and next Tueday.

      Come on Reds.

Decent lineup. Diaz needs to make more happen.....Gone for a narrow win for us although I wouldn't be overly shocked if we battered them 5 nil.

At Anfield this is a game we should be winning, though. Make a statement.
