Liverpool make four changes for the New Year's Day encounter with Newcastle United at Anfield.

Ibrahima Konate returns to the defence, while Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai are back in midfield.

Elsewhere, Luis Diaz is restored in attack and Alexis Mac Allister is named among the substitutes following injury.

How many games does he need mate? He's not hit the heights for me and has no consistency other than one that frustrates.

Mitigating circumstances with the worry over his dad. But he wasn't pulling up trees before that.

He works hard Luis ... can't fault his work rate. Its whether he has the quality to produce regularly what we'd expect and what we need from our front 3.

Hopefully he gets motm tonight 🙏 in a reds win.

That’s a good line up. Hope Diaz creates some good moments or gets on the score sheet. Time he produced a bit more.
Always nervous just before a game but still gone for 2:0.
If we start with a high tempo and get out quick passing going it could be much more !

Beat the sh*t out of Gordon. He’s going to throw himself to the ground at every opportunity so might as well get our money’s worth. 

Early goal and they could crumble. Nunez will be handful tonight but just avoid the mistimed tackle if he can. Diaz is not a surprise starter IMO, he is a genuine wide player and I fully expect him to do well tonight.

Jota might get another 30 mins and they'll be knackered by then.

Toon desperate for points after a poor tally in recent games...so I fully expect them to attack, which will leave space for us to get in behind. Maximum points needed tonight so pace and purpose from the off.

They do have a bit of pace up top, so we need to be careful of our high line and the space behind. No doubt the long ball will be a tactic they’ll employ, as they won’t have much else.
