      Christ that's a throw back

Scratching my head now trying to think of the midfielders I bought to replace that early 90s Liverpool midfield

was he that bad? I thought he was a decent player that season they challenged United, 95/96 i think.

I had bart Williams from memory. Always kept redknapp at 6.

He was average at best. Rob Lee and David Batty was their best pairing in the middle.

Thankfully you weren't on our scouting team back then mate.

He's a very tidy footballer and I know McConnell seems to be the higher rated but Clarke has settled into first team football a little quicker for me.

Don’t think he will be at the right level for us , decent solid player who will have a decent career at a mid level team

Ruthless manager maybe, seen enough to know not at right level  and time to cash in .What's the point waiting for.3 or 4 years like we have in past .

Maybe Clark has also decided, he would rather go and get a regular game somewhere.

      I expected a loan though.

Like Carvalho, I just don't see him as the caliber player we want or need. Good y9ujg pkayer who can make a mid level prem team happy off the bench or be a player at the championship level. Not a Liverpool player

Part of the academy paying for itself. Flog the mid tier ones for millions and wait for a Trent to come along

Third offer from Salzburg of around 10m, preferred had he went on loan to develop and increase his value but it’s not the worst fee in the world.
