Starting this as the young lad has got a couple of appearances under his belt now, almost got himself a Wembley goal and it gives me an excuse to post this video which is all I think of every time I hear this lad's name.

His header was spot on but their keeper was alert.

Well yes, will have a future in the game, but it's too early to make predictions. You've seen plenty over the years so you know as well as any that nothing is guaranteed. His Dad is still in the game, working at Tranmere, so Neil Danns knows the score.

Made a fantastic start, great confidence, that's what stands out.The arrogance of youth if yer like.Nowt wrong with that and he has great potential. One of the biggest issues is getting opportunities at this club. Same issue for all the younger players.

As impressive as he has been, and he's shown stacks of potential, IMO I think it's far too early to be calling for promotion to the first team.

There will be a difficult decision for Danns, the other young players who featured in the last few weeks and the new manager in the summer.

Do they go on loan for 1st team experience or stay with our 1st team squad next season? They probably will not get many 1st team opportunities next season, assuming we don't have another injury crisis.

I think maybe a season out on loan would be good for Danns. He looks physically strong enough to play in the championship for a decent passing team. Maybe Southampton would be happy to have him scoring for them, not against?

First team squad to clarify

Was screaming for him to come on and replace Gakpo at the 60 minute mark. The Kid has an eye for goal and just seems to get in the right places.

Loads of potential and closer than the rest in terms of physical development. Glad he's a scouser as he'll be sure to want to stick around and make it here.

Think the lad deserves to come on as a sub in preference to Gakpo, just at the moment. I really like this kids' eye for a goal.

Watched the game, it was a very impressive all round display from all the lads. Very enjoyable game and a decent turn out for an u21 game, must've been 7000-8000 in there.

His footwork and balance for a big man is incredible, check him out in the build up to the first....little zip zag round the defender, then forces the keeper to parry the ball straight to Kone Doherty who then slots away the rebound.

I don't like player comparisons but he reminds me a lot of Kane whenever I watch him.

If a ball dropped in the box id take danns over nunez all day for it to drop to. But yes i agree. Hes shown enough to be one of the subs for sure.

We have fit forwards - who unfortunately can't hit a barn door. And the kid looks like he can finish.

Danns is a young talent who did well in a very short period in a cup game but still very much far from proven - wouldnt take much for people to turn on him if he misses chances

With that said and with the season being over, love to see him start West Ham.

Start him the rest the way out and see what he’s got.

Let's see what this lad can do now. I have absolutely no doubt if he found himself in Nunez position in that match the last thing on the planet he would have done is shut his eyes and cowardly tw*t it as hard as he could and hope for the best.

Any striker on the books in fact should be placed ahead of Nunez until the penny finally drops with that idiot that this is not how you finish chances even when inevitably one or 2 fly in.

Not asking for Danns to get 4 hatricks from here on in. I'm just looking for a striker who at least gets the basics of finishing chances and shows signs of doing the right thing.

Once again I am asking for Jayden Danns playing time.

He’ll get his chances again, of that I’m sure but that wasn’t the right game to bring him on in. Needs to be eased in with better surroundings.
