Our own fault. The kids would have beat them tonight. Only us would have played 8 of our first 11 in a game like that less than 3 days before city.

The injuries this season and the amount of them season in season out has been frustrating. But no sympathy tonight.

I get what you're sayin .  But possibly 2 injuries came in the back four.  Quansah was already playing. Who else could we have played back there? VVD was gettin a rest. Kostas could have played for Robbo yes, but what's our options at CB.

Anyways , hope at least Joe is not serious because I think Ibou did his hammy.  The tie is over , play the U16s next week.

It's really unreal how many injuries we get, something not right on the training ground. This is not the first season that we've been decimated by injuries. Probably the 3rd of the last 4.  And somebody has to explain how Ali gets a 2 month injury? He's the GK FFS , what are they doing in training.

We're through. Xabi got a draw in Azerbaijan so he might pitch up earlier than expected.

Had to go with Kelleher as motm. His saves kept the tie in our hands.
Imagine going 3:1 down to this lot 😱

Just keeps doing it doesnā€™t he 😊

Bonkers game ...When do you ever win 5-1 and your keeper is MOTM?....Tie over.

Totally agree and their keeper only wanted to save Gakpo's goals.

Mac Allister is cementing his authority and we are being dependent on him.

As was stated looks like just Konate with suspected hamstring strain. Or might just felt it tighten up. Still Joe is fine, and looks like Mo & Dom came through OK.

Was an outside chance Boss was going to nod off during that post match interview....zzzzzz.....

Yeah Macca is starting to control games. Just so cool on the ball. I was a bit uncertain but he has got used to the shirt now and can play his normal game.

Stronger team fielded than I had expected but a convincing win means the second leg gives us more options to rotate, keeps the mood in the group high and gives us some rhythm going into Sunday. Hoping that Konate is ok although there's not much turnaround time is there which was always the risk. We did however give a lot of key players limited minutes to keep them fresh so fingers crossed we're ok for Sunday when heavy metal Mecca awaits.

Iā€™d love to be wrong but Iā€™d be staggered if Konate is ok.Iā€™ve just gone back and watched,  he pulled up and literally looked like he couldnā€™t run.

Don't think the Boss considered sending out a watered down version of the team or wrap certain players in cotton wool. Injuries happen, whether there is some issue with our training, preparation etc., I don't know.

Boss said it wasn't a 1-5 game, was much closer. Kelleher was most people's MOTM. A weakened team could've easily lost that game. Think he said before the game..."We don't prioritise.."

      From the Beeb:-

"Boss JĆ¼rgen Klopp says Ibrahima Konate's substitution was just 'precautionary'."
He also says that Darwin still has room for improvement

I'm sure it's nothing more than what's commonly referred to as "Feeling a Twinge", the club has already said he was taken off as a precaution.

And? Weā€™ve heard that loads of times before.
Obviously I hope heā€™s fine, but feels hard to see him playing Sunday.

Better result than performance alright. Think that's the most open I've seen our defence all season. It did get a lot better after Virgil came on it must be said.

Sparta were very attacking and we punished them for it. Great to see Nunez score a couple of beauties (gave him MOTM, narrowly over Kelleher) and Mo back in time for City.

Hopefully Konate is ok, Quansah was a bit sketchy today, although it didn't seem to affect his confidence. Would ideally have liked Endo to come off earlier but only so many subs you can make. Anyway, this tie is over. Bring on City.

If it's your perception that he's unlikely to play at the weekend then that's your prerogative. My perception, based exclusively on what the club has said post match, is that he will play. Neither of us, it's fair to say know for sure.

Great result, probably flattered us in the end a little bit. Praha played a good game, their keeper was shocking.

Nunez + Kelleher both very good. The rest were pretty average, some nice moments here and there by Mac/Szobo but generally a pretty forgettable perfomance.

Quansah was better once Virg came on to guide him

And I just listened to what he said on TNT. He clearly said ā€œIā€™m pretty sure we will find something thereā€. As in an injury.

Well that was a bit easier than I thought it was going to be, got off to a great start with the pen and to be honest we never really looked back.

I thought they might have been a bit better than that especially being the home side, but it means we can probably take it a bit easier next week at home and play the kids again...after all they've never let us down.

Kelleher - man of the match, some spot on saves by our number two.

Great to see Dom and Mo back too and a nice run out for them both.

Overall another cracking win in the bag and it's countdown for the citeh game and all guns blazing for Sunday.

Quansah and Robbo was a worry tonight, both really struggled. They were targeted by Prague and more often than not managed to get in behind them far too easily. Thankfully a mixture of top keeping/goal line clearing by Joe and their poor finishing meant we didn't need to make this tougher for ourselves than it was.
