Do wonder how involved he’ll be on a daily basis once he’s appointed the sporting director and manager though. Makes me think FSG might be looking into a multi club ownership thing and Edwards will lead that.

Whatever you think about our American owners they deserve huge credit for sorting this out now. Delighted he’s agreed to come back.

Brilliant news. It will hurt like hell losing Jürgen but having a key player in our success in the Klopp years back in position feels great and hopefully it will give the new guy the confidence he can do the job with an excellent team behind him.

Far from an fsg fan but credit to them for bringing Edwards back. They've persisted with their efforts here and it would seem they've got their man.

With a stable and proven platform on the football side on the way to being secured it should be easier to tempt their manager of choice.

Edwards & Hughes vision for the future will prove too much of an incentive for Xabi to turn down, make no mistake ppl, this is huge, we already have a new shiny title challenging young exciting squad, we have a academy turning out ready made 1st team players accustomed to playing our system and thanks to Jürgen Klopp have a club on the periphery of success both domestically and in Europe!!!

Taking over as CEO for  the football side  - will work alongside Billy Hogan who will for all the finances etc

To be fair, apart from a couple of minor issues, on which they quickly backtracked following the fans disapproval, I can't think of anything they've done wrong since they took over. Apart of course, pouring untold amounts of money for Jürgen to buy players every season and thereby putting the club in massive debt.

I don't see another top club being run so well.

Seemingly the most powerful man at the club now and probably only be overruled by Henry.

If Gordon overruled him and backed klopp last time causing him to leave ... that won't be happening here in this scenario.

I'm happy he's back and trust the club is in good hands under him.

Best owners in the Premier League - can’t think of anyone else in European football that you would want to see run the club

Seems like we've played a real blinder here. Bravo to the club for getting this all nailed down.

FSG realised that we cannot replace Klopp in the current structure. So restructuring and hiring great people to manage post Klopp is the way to go. 

So, Edwards has agreed and will take over on June 1st - and will oversee a second club that FSG are buying.....
