This could turn out to be a more embarrassing European exit than Utd's if we don't at least restore some pride in the game today.

Gonna go for a 3-1 win on the night.

Klopp has taken a team to win this and try win it well. If he'd of thought no chance he'd have taken a youth heavy team and gave them an experience, fact he's taken the first team big guns tells me he's in it to win it.

this could be the most entertaining game ever

      1-5 to the reds

Not Klopp's style. Especially when we've come through more difficult challenges, especially when it's his last few months at the club.

Strangely the closer this game gets the more optimistic I get.
      * This is an example of what is known as the "Walton Breck Road Fallacy". This is a common error in reasoning which occurs when as you get closer in time to an event you ignore all the evidence of it's probable outcome and replace it with an unlikely or impossible outcome.*...
...Of course this is a totally made up fallacy....unlike the "Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy" which does actually exist: Which is when someone starts with a conclusion and then goes looking for data, or a reason to support it....Up the Reds

      Useless facts time -

In our history, we have lost four first-leg ties at Anfield in European competition. These losses have been against -

      - Leeds - 70/71
      - Chelsea - 08/09
      - Real Madrid - 22/23
      - Atalanta - 23/24

We have progressed in none of our previous three attempts, so history is against us tonight, however that is no reason not to try.

We have lost BOTH legs of a European knock-out tie just eight times in our history. These two-legged defeats came against -

      - Ferencvaros - 66/67
      - Red Star Belgrade - 72/73
      - Genoa - 91/92
      - Spartak Moscow - 91/92
      - Celta Vigo - 97/98
      - Benfica - 05/06
      - Atletico Madrid - 19/20
      - Real Madrid - 22/23

Resident opinion-divider Darwin Núñez can join some ridiculously illustrious company tonight if he scores. Darwin has scored 9 goals in 17 European appearances for us, with the fastest players to accomplish 10 European goals in a Red shirt being –

      - Mo Salah - 13 appearances
      - Sadio Mane - also 13 appearances
      - Robbie Fowler - 16 appearances
      - Roger Hunt - 18 appearances

Núñez remains our top scorer in the Europa this season with 5 goals

Past results cannot influence tonights result...it's like throwing a coin, ten heads on the run still means the eleventh toss is 50/50 and doesn't favour it being tails....it does however show how unlikely it is that we will prevail. The goals needed being the factor...not history.

Someone is due a battering from us, might as well be this group. I think they will be nervy early and we need to take advantage of that. Come out balls to the wall and see if we can put doubt in their minds (if it isn't already there) early on.

      Not useless at all.

I learnt a lot from that and now I'm even more convinced we'll go through tonight.

I can’t remember the last time we started a game fast though? It’s almost as if we can’t do it mentally.

I know, but we are capable, this is surely the game to show what we are capable of. My only concern is Trent admitting Jürgen leaving is having an effect on the team, obviously not a positive effect, but they need to dig deep and pull something out of the hat, give it their all and let’s send Jürgen on his way with hopefully another trophy. A final in Dublin will be like nothing they’ve ever experienced before, keep the dream alive!

Agree, but I also believe that 1-0 at halftime would be just as good. We will see. We may not go through, but I believe we will win tonight. We are so much better than them.

Yes first 15/20 minutes could be crucial. Just get that early goal and they will get very nervy. Won't know whether to go for the clincher or drop deep. They know it's not over.

Just hope if it doesn't happen we don't overreact.
