Pre-match Aston Villa V Liverpool 13/5/24 8pm Kick off

So we take on Aston Vila on Monday night in what is Jürgen Klopp's penultimate game as Liverpool's manager.

It's such a shame the way the season has petered out and as we've secured third, there's not that much to play for except pride of course.

We all know it's not the way we'd planned this and wanted to give Jürgen the best send off he richly deserves, so I hope the lads do their utmost to get a result at Villa Park and our last away game will be bouncing in the stands with "Dreams and songs to sing"

Villa might struggle after their exit from Europe in midweek and we will be fresh after a week's rest, so hopefully we can capitalise on that.

A good performance and three points is all we ask

We are facing a very tired and down beat Aston Villa. They've had a brilliant season but we should win this one.

Reckon this'll be another West Ham.....a pre season type feel where neither side bother to get out of 2nd gear.

Results not too important to us in these last 2 games, just want to see some fresh legs again and play with freedom/energy. Give everyone fit a little run about in the final 2.

At least make an effort, to go out and beat Villa, do not want the season to completely fizzle out. Win by a couple of goals, showing a bit of pride in a disappointing end to the campaign.

Haven't checked but are Villa guaranteed 4th and CL football next season? Cos if they're not this match may mean something to them and they may not be as downbeat as people are suggesting!

They can't afford to lose this so it won't be an end of season walkabout for them. Agreed Spurs have to beat City at home and that has to happen to give Arsenal a chance. Don't think Emery will assume City will beat Spurs, he's a professional. So V Villa it's Game On.

I think this one will tough for us in terms of interest/motivation. I expect an appropriate performance next weekend vs. Wolves, but not expecting so much for this one. Hopefully they will surprise me.

For me the footballing interest in the season ended a little while back. After the CP loss, felt we were done. Though obviously overachieved on what thought we would do before season started. Will probably tune in though to see how we get on tonight though, the penultimate game under the boss.
Then will be Jürgen's send off and hope we give him the warm going away he so deserves.  Going to miss him hugely.
Can't describe how disheartening it is to see Citeh likely collecting another title while the FFP charges remain outstanding and other teams have with lesser charges have been punished.
That's on top of watching Madrid get to another CL final, with poor decision at the end against Bayern, the behaviour of some of their players etc.
Maybe just feeling a bit burnt out, like the big man

always look forward to seeing the Reds take to the pitch and this is still a game we can and should win comfortably if we play anything like we know we can.

There may not be too much riding on this in terms of winning any kind of silver but I expect our players to perform at their upmost for the guy who has been their biggest influence for the last 9 seasons, they are where they are because of Jürgen, playing in the best league there is for one of the best club’s in the World,

This will be the penultimate game under Jürgen’s reign and possibly the last one for one or two, so if they have anything about them they should run through the proverbial brick wall and show him how much they appreciated what he has done for them,

From Villa’s perspective it’s their final home game in a very good season for them, and similarly their players will want to put in performance for Unai Emery and for their fans, so it won’t be a dead rubber ppl feel it will be, there’s plenty on it mostly pride but each set of X1 will be giving their all,


I expect this to be high entertainment with both sides going for it, with plenty of Ooos & Ahhs, I think we’ll come out on top if everyone is tuned in, Villa are dangerous and are capable of doing us over, but I feel we’ll edge it having more quality and perhaps wanting it just a little bit more !!

Villa need a win and I expect them to go for it. we'll be lucky to get a draw out of this as Villa will set up to pummel us. It's at their place too so expect noise, drama and if Villa click.. a right old ding dong of a game.

Heart tells me 1-3 to the Reds, head tells me if Villa turn up 2-0 to Villa.

Not at all negative, can just see them doing us over .
