Rewind the tape....YOU said "I'll take losing to Plymouth if it helps us win the league" That's two, as in one added to one....or three minus one..TWO competitions. I agreed, any LFC supporter would give up the cup to win the league....but as I said, one doesn't directly determine the other, I then went on by giving you an example with Man City last season who won both....both as in two things, a brace, a couple... TWO things.
I didn't say anything about City being affected in their other comps at all....You are on of those people who just move the goalposts in an effort to be proven correct...It's extremely boring. Have a good evening

Man City didn’t win two things last season 🤷‍♂️

Man City didn’t win both last season

We currently have the chance to win 3 things

Missing out on one cup allows the team a couple weekends of breaks during a busy period - if we stayed in the comp we would be going 4/5 weeks of 3 games in 8 days

Now we don’t have too do that

Fair enough...apologies...I actually forgot that Utd had somehow won the FA Cup Final....the point still stands, Getting to the Final didn't prevent them winning the league....listen I understand the argument...the less you play the more likely you'll be fresher to compete...but as I said earlier we went out of the cup to Utd last year and we were no stronger after that.

My last comment on this non event.

Good analysis as per usual by TAW lads. From 32 minutes on, they break down the issues in the weak midfield selection (with Neil also emphasizing the need for an extra midfielder being bought as we lack depth there, but we knew that in the summer).

Josh Williams: "Liverpool's midfield of Nyoni, McConnell and Ellliott, that's a very very basic midfield. That midfield is not Premier League level. And you're being treated like a Premier League opposition."

Josh then mentions the lack of good service to the forwards (the senior players we did select), with that midfield failing to progress the ball.

The very raw, skinny 17 year old Nyoni looks like he needs a loan. McConnell looks much further ahead in his development and could maybe get 5 or 10 minutes here or there. And Elliott of course is a great sub who is totally different from the bench in his role as a game changer.
