The compact structure is gone now with the younger players on
and Arsenal are finding spaces in the wide areas as a result.

      Game ends 2-1.
      Pitch really bad.
Clear that the sods along the side Arsenal were attacking in the second half were lifting.

For those that saw the teamsheet and subs,
Gravenberch and Konate did NOT play.

You may just be having a laugh but this sums up some of the psychotic tendencies of our support

No new signings were doomed 8th at best if lucky. Win a pre season game and were a cert to win the league

Funny bunch. Might be more craic to just see how the season goes game by game under the new boss instead of always building down and then building up omly to build down again

The sky will be falling in if we lose to utd in pre season

Harvey looks to be continuing his form and Mo looks like our Mo. So far so good.

8th at best, damn. Best thing to do is just ignore all the gloomy doom mongers.....the only ever pipe us when we're going through some kind of adversity and conveniently seem to stay quiet when we're putting winning streaks together. F**k em.

Regardless of pre-season or signings, I genuinely don't see 4 better teams than us in the league to relegate us outside the CL places.

I did not see the game but the 2 assists by Elliott were very good. With two good wingers and a possibly in-form Nunez, this could be deadly. But our issue has always been to deal with teams defending low and letting us have possession.

Played well first half, scored two good goals. Impressed with Elliott and Quansah. 2nd half not great, barelyl had a kick, Arsenal very dominant and bossed possession.

Watched the first half - after a very bright start from Arsenal we played some nice stuff at times.  Both Liverpool goals very good and Jota should have had at least one.

Doesn't mean a huge amount in the grand scheme of things but fitness looks good which is obviously important a couple of weeks from kick off.

2nd half not greabarel had a kick, Arsenal very dominant and bossed possession.

Ah okay, I only saw the first half so perhaps my confidence is a little out of kilter with reality.

One of the few mistakes Jürgen made was not to play Elliot more often, one he admitted

We didn't have much of the ball 2nd half but we remained very disciplined and stayed defensively sound, Arsenal didn't create a single clear cut chance despite us playing Blair up top, Stephenson up against Trossard and a midfield of Endo Bajcetic and Nyoni to shut out Partey Havertz and Odegaard.

Yes they didn't create a great deal to be fair although the kids weren't on untilthe 70th minute when he mafe all the changes. It was a good run out but i think the score flattered us based on the full 90 minutes. Great to have Jota back in the side, i just hope he can stay fit this season. He's a shoe in for the 9 role if only his body could hold up for a full season.

I believe Endo Nyoni Bajcetic and Stephenson were all brought on at HT, making way for Bradley Jones Szobo and Jota. So basically 3 youngsters in and 3 experienced out, which was always going to swing the momentum in their favour as they left all their big hitters on.

We clearly deserved the win. Should've been 3 or 4-1 up at half time had Jota taken his chances. Besides the goal we helped Arsenal score (think Havertz may have even been offside) Kelleher had nothing to do all game other than a routine near post save from distance.

We I couldn’t  stay up to watch it last night. Did see the team sheets and really didn’t think we do very well.
To wake up this morning to see we’d won it, I was made up !
It seemed like arse we’re going full out to win it, and we were just get minutes into legs. Brilliant result that, whosever we played second half, it was clearly enough 😂😂. Can’t wait to watch it tonight now 😊😊

Very fluid in the change of shapes. 4-2-4 and  4-1-4-1 throughout the first half. Even dropped Sobbo as the 6 a few times and allowed different players to move up alone and press the back line very high.
Second half was much less of the ball, but very disciplined in defense. Morton still looks like he could do a job this season.

Very complex stuff so far, may take some time.to fully grasp it.

Elliot balled out through the middle in that "sort of" 10 role. Carvalho is screwed as what he thinks is his best position is what Elliots is too, but way better

You can hear him in the video when he meets up with the squad saying “there was nothing to do.”

Dude was just eager to get back playing ball.
