I honestly think we’ll surprise quite a few of these media fuckwits, starting with that total Cnut Rory what’s his face cunty bollocks, he thinks we’ll finish as low as 7th, just for the record we haven’t lost anyone from last season,we haven’t as yet signed anyone who could possibly make us better either, but that’s bye the bye,

For me we punched above our weight last season whilst still in transition and having the added burden of trying to do it for Jürgen, after his bombshell exploded, instead of the extra impetus we all thought that would bring it had the opposite effect, further compounded by the injuries we sustained in particular to Jota, Trent, Szlobo, Robbo etc,

Yet we were still in the race with five to go, at that point we weren’t playing well, we were scraping by until the Scumchester lot got lucky, and we Bottled it against Blueshite, and that was the end of that…..

……So what has changed ? Well not a lot but it doesn’t have to, we won’t become a bad side after 3 months of being dormant will we, we still have the same crop of players who came up just short, you can add the fresh impetus of the new gaffers approach and how he will instill new ideas and perhaps added confidence….

We haven’t bought yet because maybe we don’t need to just yet, no one is expecting us to be in the mix, many are expecting Arne to fail, and just because others have strengthened it doesn’t mean we have to, now I have no doubt we will at some point, but players targeted have to want to come here to, and if they are not fully committed as we seen with Zubimendi then we don’t want these types either….so we move on to the next target….if they are the right fit of course,

As for Ipswich, their a bit of a unknown challenge, they deserve to have a crack in the highest league in the land but I don’t think they’ll have the resources to survive and for me will be most clubs whipping boys, on Saturday they will get a rude awakening of what life is like in the EPL, how unfortunate for them to have to face us so early in the piece, ……….

                                                   Alisson
                                 Trent.  Quansah. Virgil.  Kostas
                                           Szlobo   G’Berch
                                    Salah       Macca.     Diaz

Subs; Kelleher, Robbo, Konate, Bacjetic, Gakpo, Nunez, Elliot, Bradley, Jones

Really can’t see the Tractor boys ploughing their way to an opening win, but I do see us handing out a severe lesson in Arne’s debut !!

Good evening everyone. I managed to follow through on my final post as Jürgen left us on the final day of the season to stay away from all things football and be back on the first pre-match and i managed it. Ignored the euros , watched plenty of tv and switched off from football ... until today.

So .... after a quick scan on the bbc sport app i see we missed out on a 6, the revamp i wanted up top has not not happened and we actually have not signed anybody ... the only club. Surprise surprise.

But at the end of the day ... despite reading some saying its sell to buy blah blah, i think Slot has been wise to wait and assess his squad and decide who he is happy to let go and also decide with that the best way to raise his first transfer budget in addition to anything he already had in the pot to spend.

With the sale of cavalho/clark it seems this plan is now getting traction. The flip obviously is that teams will be less willing to lose players as there is around 2 weeks and change left to bring anyone in and the deadline passing. Its last minute isnt it.

Arsenal it seems are doing their business again, united and chelsea throwing money around again and city strangely quiet though that can and will change.

Im excited for the new season. Batteries recharged. Im trying to not be disappointed today catching up and seeing nobody signed, weaknesses not fixed / better players brought in. Im excited to see how Arne plays and what he can get out of this squad, which is a good one.

How is everyone feeling about it, having no doubt kept up with it all summer? Frustrated, optimistic, concerned?

Hope you all had a great summer. Im away on holiday sunday afternoon to a sunny hotel in manchester and crete monday early so summer not quite over for me.

Finally, im seeing a 12 30 ko ... its good to know despite Jürgen going, theyre still out get us 🙂 . COYR

Ipswich manager meant to be good was linked with some big jobs over the summer his historical links being with United.

First game of the season. Away from home against a team buzzing to be back in the top flIght. Any win here will do.

      From BBC:

      Team news

Ipswich will be without injured trio Nathan Broadhead, George Hirst and Harry Clarke for their first Premier League match in 22 years.

Summer signings Sammie Szmodics, Liam Delap, Arijanet Muric, Ben Johnson and Jacob Greaves could make their debuts.

Kalvin Phillips has also joined on loan from Manchester City and might potentially come into contention.

New Liverpool head coach Arne Slot says he has a fully fit squad to choose from.

Don't know much about this Ipswich side but the 2 forwards out for them got 20 goals between them last season and their CB who is out featured in 76% of their games.
