That's regardless of if Kelleher remains here or not because you want 2 goalkeepers in the modern game capable of being #1. The signing makes sense. We have 5 goalkeepers competing for one job atm. But if we really need to get another one in 2 years, then go out and get one. Not waste 40m quid on a bloke we've never heard of, in a position we don't need, who's never won a thing in his career, and for all we know, may never even play a game.

The last time we made a signing like this was Divick Origi 10 years ago. When he eventually arrived, he scored a few goals in the derbies, but he was never really first choice material.

This is nothing short of a horrendous waste of money. Our rivals this season are forking out fortunes on signings they need now. That's what we should be prioritising.
