It's quite simply impossible to be England's No.1 keeper for the length of time he's been there and be as bad as you say. ALL goalkeepers make mistakes.

Been picked by Southgate for every appearance he's "earned", 3 tournaments and won nothing. A top keeper in that England side and perhaps they win something?

All keepers make mistakes, sure. But not as many as he does. There's a reason why his only 2 clubs are Sunderland and Everton and no other big European club have taken to him.

Now you're making yourself look silly....England have had about five thousand goalkeepers since 1966 and have won precisely zilch.

Were the keepers always the weak link in the team?

Bringing in his England status has no bearing of his time as a Premier League keeper, as a Premier League keeper he's awful. He's been picked by Southgate for the last 7 years.....great? Ahead of who, an aging Joe Hart, Pope and Ramsdale?

It's like saying Maguire has been first choice England CB for so long and played so many games as captain for Utd so he can't be an awful defender, it's impossible he can be an awful defender.....except anyone that's seen him play over the years knows he's an awful defender.

He is a solid keeper like you say mate but I just cannot be doing with him.

His antics and the showy saves then the inevitable wild blunders just leave him as a solid mid table keeper for me.

He's only been the England No1 for so long as he's the best of a bad bunch most likely

Most opposite to solid keeper ive ever seen. Hes a clown, shouting and waving hands every 2 seconds. Adhd id say. Utter fool trying banter at the most unbanterest moments, throwing hands about like a chimp, full on knob tw*t

Christ 2 lads arguing with each other and both as cringy as each other in their lack of self awareness.

Here's the truth. The goalkeeper position will be up for grabs in 1-2 years and we need a good one once Alli leaves. That's regardless of if Kelleher remains here or not because you want 2 goalkeepers in the modern game capable of being #1. The signing makes sense. Well done to everyone involved once it goes through.

Here's the other truth. We are in need of players for this season. This signing is irrelevant to this season.

We have 5 goalkeepers competing for one job atm. But if we really need to get another one in 2 years, then go out and get one. Not waste 40m quid on a bloke we've never heard of, in a position we don't need, who's never won a thing in his career, and for all we know, may never even play a game.

The last time we made a signing like this was Divick Origi 10 years ago. When he eventually arrived, he scored a few goals in the derbies, but he was never really first choice material.

This is nothing short of a horrendous waste of money. Our rivals this season are forking out fortunes on signings they need now. That's what we should be prioritising.

He has been playing in the top league in Spain since 2021 and was the top GK in the Euros - if you have never heard of him that’s down to you

And he is 23 - what do you have expected him to win

What did Alisson win before he joined us 🤷‍♂️

We really don't and no matter how you try and spin it this is nonsense.

We have 2, one of which is likely to want to move on next summer if he's on the bench again all season and the other could maybe be looking for a move the summer after.

It's not a waste of money to plan for the future especially in possibly the hardest position on the pitch to fill successfully

Sorry, we're not short of goalkeepers. We are short of defensive midfielders, so what have we spent our limited funds on this summer? Another keeper.

City have just re-signed Gundogan to boost their title challenge. We paid well over the odds on a keeper who conceded 8 goals in the Euros, an average of 2 per game. If he was the best, what were the rest like?

So who’s to say we’re not making moves on a quality D mid ? Just because we sign a keeper doesn’t mean nothing else will happen.
Or are you once again privy to what’s going on within the club that is with held from the rest of us.
I’d be delighted if you could give us all an update 😊😊

You are allowing his infantile behaviour to cloud your judgement....Yes he's an annoying pr*k...but he's not sh*t...as has been claimed.
No goalkeeper would keep their place if they were sh*t...Just like no heart surgeon would keep their job if they were no good at it.

Shut the F**k up you stupid f***in tw*t,

You just don’t get it do ye, hasn’t it ever occurred to you that we might, just might be buying for the future, he was voted probably the best keeper of his age group and who will become one of if not the best stopper on the planet, in time,

We have Allison who is approaching his twilight years, and is still the best around imo, we have young Kelleher who I hope will hang around long enough to take the No1 jersey, if he doesn’t we have another very capable and young Goalie in Vite Jaros, Giorgi Mamardashvili like young Stefan Bajcetic and the like are our future,

      Somewhere don’t know where, there’s a Village missing it’s Idiot !!

I'm going to have to stop you right there. No we don't.

In fact...there is no competition. Allison is #1, Kelleher is backup. That hasn't and won't change for the foreseeable future.

      End. of. story.

Stop trying to be edgy and wind people up.

Who are we looking out for, the next Arthur Melo?

Time was when we would have everyone signed before pre season began, providing the maximum opportunity to bed into the manager's system before the season started. Now however....

      Were not. Far from it.
