Looking forward to this new format.

I'm not it'll be F***ing crap, basically Uefa's kiss arse response to the super league, Destroying the competition in the process and just creating more games when managers have previously complained about there being too many games.

It is true it was eufa way of dodging the super League.

But sometimes a wee change can be good no matter the reason.

      We shall see.

Beside the extra games I also dislike the unbalance fixtures. Not being able to play each team home and away puts more importance on the draw with who you play home and away.

Home and away v 3 opponents top 2 go through, what was wrong with that? Some groips of death where your on edge for 3 months about qualifying for the knockouts.

      Jeezo lads. Embrace the change.

Change is good. Life is boring without some sort of change.

Guaranteed more games v more different teams.

How many times have we been drawn v same teams.

      This interesting and new.

Most groups were sorted after 5 games, sometimes 4.

Gets rid of the 3 week break between second round games, dropouts into other competitions, and the annual City winning the first leg of their first knockout round game 5-0. For all the whinges of more games, if you finish in the top 8, you don't have another game in it until Easter, rather than mid-February as it was before.

That said, I still can't make head nor tail of how the opponents are chosen. Most bizarre football draw I've ever seen in my life.

      That’s a rough draw.

No team outside the big 4-5 leagues although I have no idea how good Girona and Bologna are now.

Only team I’m not worried about are Lille, they’re a bit sh*t.

Think you're about right there Rossy.

I see City and Madrid top 2 with 20-22, then Arsenal Us Leverkusen Inter Munich and Bayern around the 14-18 points mark.

Tbh I see this being a very tight table (I guess it kinda has to be with so many teams and only 8 games), maybe 3-4 points separating 4th all the way down to maybe 17th-18th.

Because teams like Spurs and Chelsea put in complaints to UEFA that they were receiving too much banter about playing Thursday nights.
