Interesting team.. thought Elliott deserved a start after his brilliant pre-season.

Quansah ahead of Konate as well is fully deserved.

Also notice there’s no Gomez, wonder why he’s not on the bench.

      Come on your reds!

Brilliant seeing Robbo back, thought Kostas would have been in which would have been the side I picked to start, happy to be wrong,
This is a team capable of going all the way with Arse & Cheats , we just need to keep the injuries to a minimum, I’m really excited and can’t wait to see our boys in action!!

      C’mon Redmen !!

Gomez is needed for the long season but either he took it badly that we tried to unload him to Newcastle or that he wants a new challenge where he will play regularly.

Disappointed to read this, he was excellent last season. I thought he replaced Milner as our Swiss Army knife player. Provided cover in so many positions

Strong team. Plenty there to get 3 points.

Looking for a vast improvement defensively. Shape, resilience, focus and determination to keep clean sheets and hopefully lose this habit of conceeding early.

I'd be disappointed to lose Gomez but hes probably sick of playing full back or being reserve full back and i dont blame him as he is a quality centre half. No way he should be sold unless a quality replacement is found, signed and sealed. If that does not happen he stays. Not sure whats happening with VDB or philips but i think both will be moved on.

Really excited for today. Clean slate. Whats gone has gone and we go again.

Slot needs to make it known that he loves 12:30 kick off may be then we don't get thrown the most of  these morning kick offs.
Nice line up excellent bench let's get ready to rumble!

Hes a centre back mate. So many seem to have forgot this. Hes not a full back and i dont think he has any desire to be one. Hes got a good attitude and filled in well last season ... but that was never going to be long term.

He is a centre back and if hes been told hes 4th choice and also a back up full back then i can see why he is considering his options.

He is too good for that role. Thing is though konate will no doubt break down so if anything happens to vvd or quansah he will be in. So he needs to think carefully. I believe opportunity will be there for him. But it seems he wants to be playing regular, get a rhythm and i understand that

You don’t know that it is the player pushing for the move. It feels more likely that the manager has told him he’s not in his plans and unlikely to see too much action. If he was offered as a make-weight in a bid for Gordon that pretty much says it all I guess.

Ps. He went to the Euros off the back of playing full back most of last season so I don’t think it’s all about his position.

Strong team, feel sorry for Harvey, don’t know about Gravenberch, but it’s what we’ve got and embarrassing about Gomez, very versatile and never complains, shocking the way we are going about business
