You don’t know that it is the player pushing for the move. It feels more likely that the manager has told him he’s not in his plans and unlikely to see too much action. If he was offered as a make-weight in a bid for Gordon that pretty much says it all I guess.

Ps. He went to the Euros off the back of playing full back most of last season so I don’t think it’s all about his position.

Thats exactly what i said ... just in other words. Hes probably been told hes 4th choice CB and backup full back ... probably assessing his options.

But we cant let him go without replacing. Replacement in first, then if a suitable bid comes in he goes. But id much prefer to keep him.

How often did he get on at the euros? If he was starring in his best position there is a place in that england defence for him.
