RIP Sven. A phenomenal manager and a fascinating, wonderful career. He'll be such a big miss. As the first foreign England manager,  he was never going to be fully appreciated by a parochial, reactionary, racist English press but true football fans and those who loved the game knew his worth. A true great.

Liked the reds, liked the ladies and liked football.

      My kind of guy! RIP.

P.S. The documentary on Amazon Prime is well worth a watch.  Our press, especially at that time, were complete bellends.  But he had a very 'I couldn't give a sh*t' attitude, although I think ultimately it did weigh on him.

Liverpool fans getting the club to install him as a manager for that legends game is something I look back on with pride.

      YNWA Svennis.

We all knew this day was coming unfortunately, still came as a shock though, I didnā€™t think about it at the time but he made a quote recently when he said ā€œ Iā€™ve enjoyed my life, donā€™t be Sorry, Smileā€ he obviously knew he was near the end, and perhaps that was his last words for the media,

If there is any solace itā€™s that he spent the rest of his time surrounded by family, and I sincerely hope he died peacefully, he was a special kind of guy, naturally very calm, so glad he lived his dream of managing Liverpool, you could see the joy in his face in the Foundation game.

I still remember straight after they lost their first away qualifier in about 6 years, in Belfast, their fans outside the ground demanding he lose his job that night.

He did it for another year, when those fans finally got what they wanted, an Englishman in charge of them again. Who did they get? Steve McLaren.
