Totally overrated, wouldn't take him on a free....and like a lot of Italian players too easily spits his dummy out when things don't go his way.

All depends on fitness. He is, or at least was, a fantastic player for Italy and one I really hoped we would sign. But I don't think it ever makes sense to sign a sick note no matter how good they've been. The fact that he's been available at this knockdown price for some time without clubs banging the door down to get him concerns me a lot. He would be a no brainer of a signing at £15m if he didn't have significant injury history.

No thanks. Smacks of panic. No plan. No clue. Just leave it and start planning for next summer.

Just got rid of 1 walking sicknote.

      https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-chiesa/leistungsdaten/spieler/341092/plus/0?saison=2023

Looking at his stats , he was superb until the cruciate

Came back during the 22/23 season and had a few niggles

      Last season

He missed 5 league games out of 38 and was their second top scorer being Valhovic

He would provide cover across the whole front 3

Has always wanted to play in the Prem

Looks like a great signing at the price
      we have 5 up there

This does appear to be happening.  Whilst he may not be the player he was three seasons ago he’s surely worth the reported £12mill.  Is it not fair to say that offloading a player who has only played 4 first team games (SVB) and recruiting Chiesa for a least £13mill less is quite an achievement surely? Do we need to recruit in other areas of the pitch - yes.  But we might not be finished yet?

A huge risk signing him as he has not been the same player since his injury.

      Huge risk? It's 15m euros ;D.

Actually.....on 2nd thoughts......it just hit me who our owners are, so yes you're probably right there.

If you would've told me 3-4 years ago the sell on clauses alone for Alberto, Grabara and Solanke would've been enough to get you a quality player like Chiesa, I would've told you to lay off the hard stuff.

With Thiago and Matip gone then we certainly need some new lads in to keep the physio department busy.

If this lad misses loads of games in Italy then he will be toast in the Premier League.

But what do I know.  I've been wrong, occasionally, before.

What did Juve play last year 48 games?

Chiesa involved in 35? Not sure that equates to a poor injury record, plus for15 million and a back up player not sure Id lose sleep over missing a game or 3

If, and a huge if this goes ahead and goes tits up well get our money back easy on him

We dont lose in this deal no matter what spin is placed on it

This clip is all from last season, honestly some of the misses from Vlahovic and Milik are an absolute joke. Chiesa has end product, is 2 footed. Direct and pacey. Everything you want in a wide man,

He got a serious injury few years back. Took away almost 2 seasons, one whole season and the first half of the next.  Took a while to get back up to speed.  Maybe not what he was but he still only missed like 5 games last year.

Was injured from Sept 21' to until November 22'  That's 14 months away.

With an injury that long it takes time to get back to full fitness.

In 23-24 he scored a career high 9 goals in 33 league games.

For the price its a no-brainer, plus he will most likely back up Mo on the RW.  Cup games , etc. .  He is 26 years old.

I definatley  think it's worth the risk, it's minimal. 15 mil nowadays is a give-away. If he returns to pre-injury form we got a bargain. If not , he's a solid back up to 32 year old Mo.

      My 2 cents anyways

It ain't my money....if he can stay healthy and contribute, he has been class in the past. Just hope it doesn't turn out to be another Thiago situation. We all tried to justify keeping him around because when he was healthy he was sublime, but there wasn't enough of the being healthy part and to be honest, probably a lot of wasted money in that situation. Definitely a player I wanted us to chase about 4 years ago I think it was.

For under 35M, he's a bargain and if the fee is really 15M I would go myself and drive him to Anfield.

      Really good deal, fingers crossed.

I attached his stats, apart the ACL injury, he played plenty of matches. So a good medical and he can be a very good deal.

27 in October and 15M I would have him all day. He speaks English and 60% can communicate with the Latinas.

Please wrap this up, I am not worried by Barca because they only registered Olmo yesterday due their situation.

I think it's really overstating things to call him injury prone. Apart from that big injury he hadn't missed many games and appeared regularly every season.

      Reports from Italy

His agent has given 24 hours for Barcelona to guarantee the purchase of his client before he explores other options

As I said, we have been here before and this stinks of an agent trying to secure a deal and seeing what happened to us before hence using us imo

This is a panic buy from us as we have nothing in the window pretty much

We urgently need a dominating cb who can lead the back 4 and a dm as we lack quality depth

The own are where we have depth is where we are targeting

"Within those 2,512 minutes it should be noted that the Italian scored 10 goals and laid on three assists, playing in four different positions – predominantly behind the striker.

Per FBref, Chiesa ranks in the top one percent of forwards across Europe for shot-creating actions, the top seven percent for expected assists, the top three percent for progressive carries and the top eight percent of progressive passes received.

More simply, he is heavily involved in all phases of attack "

The minutes thing came from DR Ian Graham who said anything over 2000 minutes of data to work off and hed give the all clear

The rest of the snippet shows what he can add, he can not only cover Mo, which we dont really have but he can lso play other positions and had 13 goal involvements last season.

For 2.7 million more then what we got for Clarke I really dont see the point some of you ate trying to make. Signing him doesnt mean we stop looking at a cb or dm

An experienced international who can cover every attacking position for 12.7 million and you want to piss and moan about it?

If it happens ill be well pleased

It’s a place in the squad that people have been crying out for - someone who can back up Mo

Seems a no brainer for me
