Mamardashvili signed for Liverpool.

Liverpool have reached an agreement for the transfer of Giorgi Mamardashvili, subject to a work permit and international clearance – with the Valencia goalkeeper set to move to Anfield ahead of the 2025-26 season.

The Reds have secured a deal for the 23-year-old that will see him remain in Spain for the remainder of the current campaign with Los Che before switching to Merseyside next summer.

They do so on the back of an impressive Euro 2024 tournament for Mamardashvili with Georgia, in which they reached the Round of 16. His 21 saves during the three group-stage games were the joint-most of any goalkeeper in the tournament’s history.

The ’keeper, who has a total of 21 caps for his country to date, will spend one further season with Valencia, where he has been for three years since transferring from Dinamo Tbilisi in 2021.

So far, Mamardashvili has tallied 102 appearances for the La Liga side and kept 31 clean sheets in all competitions, starting both of their fixtures so far this term, against Barcelona and Celta Vigo.

The question is: is he competing with Allison and Kelleher is leaving OR is he competing with Kelleher and Allison is leaving.

His pass accuracy at the Euros is pretty irrelevant, simply because Georgia don't look to build from the back.

Pickford's passing accuracy in England's last 2 games were 96% and 86%, compare that to 71% & 42% in Everton's last 2 league games.

Possibly, though I would venture to say that passing accuracy for a goalie isn't the most important stat, which in any case has to be construed within its proper context I.e. tournament representing Georgia. I'm sure the rocket scientists at LFC talent HQ have considered this.

Ah both shots were straight at him in fairness. He is a brilliant keeper though.....

On-loan keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili had a howler as Valencia lost 7-1 to Barcelona on Sunday night. The Georgian keeper was signed by Liverpool from Valencia for £30m last summer, before being loaned back to the Spanish club until the end of the season.....

Mamardashvili will return to Liverpool at the end of the season following the conclusion of his loan spell although, if Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher and Vitezslav Jaros all remain at the club, it is possible he could go back out on loan....

He has the lowest with 59.3%, 47 saves from 81 shots faced.

Not sure how much there is to read into that as there is context needed, you wouldn't expect to see Courtois down in 10th for example given where Madrid are and you wouldn't expect Emi Martinez, who many see as the world's best, to be 16th in the Prem.

Very true 👍 just not sure I'd be happy seeing the back of Kells on the back of those stats although Kelleher probably wants to be a #1 somewhere else next year.

Passed it straight to the Valladolid striker who scored earlier. Valencia still won though. Hopefully we won't see him for a few years if Ali stays fit and healthy.
