Liverpool 3-0 AFC Bournemouth: In game and Post Match discussion
      Sep 21, 2024 01:45:45 pm

Anfield needs to improve from last weeks

Liverpool FC Starting XI: Kelleher, Van Dijk, Konate, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Mac Allister, Salah, Robertson, Gravenberch, Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool Subs: Jaros, Gomez, Chiesa, Jones, Gakpo, Jota, Tsimikas, Quansah, Bradley.

Liverpool make four changes for today's Anfield encounter with AFC Bournemouth.

Caoimhin Kelleher replaces the injured Alisson Becker in goal, while Andy Robertson returns in defence.

Meanwhile, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez come into the Reds' XI, with Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas making way.

Federico Chiesa is named among the substitutes for maybe his home debut.

Nunez has to calm down and not snatch at them. Goes through patches when he looks the part but he has to up his conversion rate. Looking at Dom, bit of scrutiny. Still should put these away..said that V Forest.

I'd have started Gakpo today. Gutted Ali is out but hopefully not for too long.

These are the kind of games to bring Nunez in for. He's scored some goals against these in the past as well. Needs to produce.

Jota wont like being left out but much bigger games ahead and he will be in for those and a break here will do him no harm.

Hoping these will come out at us ... and not low block. An early goal would be great.

There's obviously some minor fitness/injury issue.  He didn't play last weekend because he played two games for the Netherlands in a fortnight - shouldn't normally stop you selecting a player if they are 100%.

      I think that’s a great starting 11.
Think it covers a lot of variables with how we play. Very positive, looking forwards to a decent win.
Just don’t get caught out by the low block.

If we can cut out the sloppy passes we saw last weekend and play with a bit of pace we should come out on top. Bournemouth half decent side and carry a threat.....As others have said it's a big opportunity for Nunez...one he needs to take.

Aw mate, Arne feels for ya, so much so he’s left out a couple of midfielders so you wouldn’t miss too much 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think what we’re seeing is Arne using the squad to it’s full capacity, and dependant on who the opposition are,
We’re seeing Nunez given a start for example so he’s got a chance of proving his worth and at the same time giving Jota a kick up the arse saying you need to give us more,
I would have been tempted to start Gakpo but something tells me he’s been kept back for the bigger fish we’ll face laters, so he’ll be rotated and kept fresh as possible,

Arne has picked a side he thinks good enough to get the job done, and depending on how we fair will use the bench accordingly.

Another impressive performance from the Redmen today me thinks!!

      3-0

Any win would be satisfactory, must take all 3 points to register a home victory against Bournemouth, at Anfield today.

Like the look of that team and bench, although rather see Endo/Morton/Nyoni on there over Jones.

Nunez to get 2 goals, an assist, squander 1 big chance and 4 offsides. Everything through him today.
