      Pre-match: Leipzig v Liverpool Weds 23rd October 20:00
      Oct 21, 2024 10:28:36 am
Big game for us on Wednesday. Injuries mounting up and some fitness issues, potential subs in brackets:

      Kelleher

      Gomez (Alexander-Arnold)
      Konate
      van Dijk (c)
      Tsimikas (Robertson)

      Gravenberch
      Mac Allister (Endo)

      Salah
      Jones (Szoboszlai)
      Diaz

      Nunez (Gakpo)

      Subs:

      Jaros (GK)
      Davies (GK)
      Alexander-Arnold
      Quansah
      Nallo
      Robertson
      Szoboszlai
      Endo
      Morton
      Nyoni
      Hill
      Gakpo

      Injured:

      Alisson
      Bradley
      Elliott
      Jota
      Chiesa

Injuries are starting to mount up for us with Bradley joining the above with an injury suffered during the international break. Jota won’t play after his ribs being crushed by Tosin on Sunday. Will have to wait and see if Elliott or Chiesa are back but don’t think either are in training so chances are low.

I’ve had a look at the squad we named and notice Nallo and Hill are listed, Davies will also likely make the squad to provide extra GK cover.

Leipzig are coming off the back of a 2-0 win away at Mainz and currently sit 2nd in the Bundesliga and look a real good team. Notable players include former Reds goalkeeper and Peter Gulacsi who captains the German side. They also have Slot’s former right back Lutsharel Geertrudia and exciting talents Xavi Simons and Benjamin Sesko. They line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation with Lois Openda leading the line.

This is going to be a stern test for us, possibly our hardest game of the season so far, Slot will surely have an eye on the game on Sunday away at Arsenal too.

Think this will be a 1-1 draw but I’m hoping we speak a win.

Another similar performance, like yesterday should give us a decent result against Leipzig, on Wednesday evening.

Oh right sure, because Endo has never stepped in and played against opposition as tough as Leipzig before….

Don’t see a problem there. He done well last season once he settled in.

That’s a decent starting 11 Clint. Subtle changes, and not enough to be disruptive to the rhythm we’re building.

leipzig are good. 2nd in bundesliga. only 2 goals conceded. lots of people expecting changes, not sure there will be many. i would definitely make a few with such a big game on sunday. also now with a few out, think you've gotta be a bit careful with some.  Bradley apparently out for weeks, wouldn't be at all surprised if jota the same.

A draw would be a very decent result, away to Leipzig. Incidently there have been no drawn games in this season's campaign, if I am correct. Maybe this tie will break the sequence.

I really don't get tearing any player apart  Eno is a warrior no problem with him playing especially against  a German team

Win the game, lose the game but keep the lads as fresh as possible for Sunday.

With this format you hardly have to win all the matches.

Games coming thick and fast now, no doubt injures will mount up so I suppose we must rotate pity the ONLY outfield player we bought is injured, but if you don’t spend…..COYR

I'd have no issue with Endo coming in for this one.

Looks like he doesn't quite fit for Arne but that doesn't mean he won't have a use over the season

Not sure how this competition actually works tbh, there seems to be 36 teams in the league, not even sure how many games we play. Is it six or eight ?

I think the first eight teams automatically qualify for the knockout stages. Correct me if I am wrong.

8 games . Then top 8 automatically qualify and 9-16 in play offs . The remainder say bye

Yeah whatever 'pal' 🙄. Endo did a good job last season and has alot of experience both in general and also in the german league. Be stupid not to use that.

With injuries mounting this needs to be a different kind of performance tonight. One of steel, concentration and grit. I'd be making a few changes with the weekend in mind, but not too many.

Not free scoring with 11 in 7 but just 2 conceding and joint top with Bayern
Tough ask tonight but we will be looking for the win 2-1
