Just left Liverpool this morning. Only got to stay one night, we are down in the Cotswolds now. Can’t wait to go back for a longer trip. We had a great 24 hours. Didn’t get to do as much as we’d have liked but just didn’t have much time due to schedule. Didn’t get to do a tour of Anfield because of Taylor Swift coming to town next weekend but got to see Anfield from the outside and snagged a hat from the shop. We stayed at this apartment style place right by Liverpool One. It was called Cove at Paradise Street. Great location with plenty of options for food and shopping nearby. Took the Magical Mystery Tour bus tour with Dale and Dennis. Probably the best tour I’ve ever been on. Like I said, definitely going back at some point.

      You're kidding me.

So I may end up booking our trip Tuesday when the schedule drops. I know I'll struggle at getting tickets just for a home game, but I know getting tickets to close away games like Everton and the Manc clubs is impossible. So, if I'm in Liverpool, what would be my best bet of clubs to try and plan a away game around? Ideally, I'd like to see an away game AND take in a game at Anfield. It'll just be my wife, me, and my boys Mugsy and Slugo.

Please help me friends. Tuesday is a big step for me.

When will tickets for matches in the fall/winter go on sale?

From what I understand your best bet will be to go the hospitality route. More expensive but you will have a better chance of seeing a game on the dates you are there (as long as the schedule doesn’t change too drastically) and it might be cool to be able to enjoy the hospitality perks as well. Good luck man.

Looking at the Fulham game..... It's slated for December 14. UCL match day 6 is December 10/11. Wish the EFL cup stuff would come out. Terrified of booking then the game I booked for gets moved and we miss out

Maybe if you can book refundable flights and rooms? I have a recommendation for a place to stay if you want to stay downtown. Cove Street Paradise apartments. Room enough for a family and right by Liverpool One. Roomy enough for a family, has a washer and dryer too, helped us minimize packing a bunch of clothes. Parking isn't free is the only downside but wasn't sure if you'd be renting a car.

I was thinking of looking at Air B&B. I think the EFL games are played midweek, so I'm chancing it. ;D

      How long did you stay?

I was only there one night unfortunately. Could have easily stayed several. There’s tons to do.

Can anyone give me guidance on checking out a youth game while in town? Are they open to the public?

Where you flying to? Renting a car or using public transport? Where are you staying. I need details man. Also, you have to do the Beatles bus tour (Magical Myster Tour by the Cavern Club).

Cool. Hope you are staying near the city center in Liverpool....great area to explore from. Remember....Magical Mystery Tour...Dale is an awesome tour guide.

Whereabouts in London? We stayed in South Bank. Was close to Borough Market, not as expensive as right over the river (although that would have been cool). I will say there are some cool places in London we didn't get to see, free observations decks that you have to book in advance. Maybe check on those now to see if you can book. London was a really cool city. One of my favorites I've been too but I'm sure I only scratched the surface of what's there.

I believe it. I suppose some of it not worth seeing but I still feel like I’d need a month to hit everything people suggest.

Help. Any recommendations on sights while I'm in Liverpool? Something i just can't miss?

How do I check out an academy game? Is that possible?

Right now I have the game on the 14th and a tour of Anfield on the 12th, that's it. Arriving on the the 11th and leaving for London on the 16th
