'Arne Slot's Premier League Press Conference | Liverpool vs Aston Villa' - from LFC...

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32Rzsh0ZaaM

'Diogo Jota is expected to return from injury soon after the November international break'...

      www.liverpoolfc.com/news/diogo-jota-injury-update-1

^ 'The Liverpool forward sustained an issue during the 2-1 win over Chelsea at Anfield last month and has subsequently missed his teamā€™s last five games.

Jota will again be absent when the Reds host Aston Villa on Saturday night but, during his pre-match press conference, Arne Slot reported that the No.20 is on course to be available again in a matter of weeks.

The head coach said on Friday morning: ā€œWe expect him back after the international breakā€¦ the first weeks after the international break we expect him back.ā€

On the nature of Jotaā€™s injury, Slot added: ā€œI always say in Holland there is privacy about this and I donā€™t know how it is over here. Like I just said, he will be back one or two weeks after the international break.ā€'

I love the way he deals with the press, tells them nothing but answers their questions. I'm sure they'll be sharpening knives for when we hit a sticky patch.

Last thing we need after we pick up 3 points tomorrow is an international break....although hearing the news Egypt won't be selecting Mo and being able to welcome Harvey, Fede and Diogo back soon after will be a +ve.

Villa are on a mini rut at the moment, without a win in their last 4. Day rest should give us that little bit extra to go at them.

I guess Arne's decision on selections will be whether to stick with Kostas/Jones/Diaz-Gakpo or bring back Robbo/Szobo/Nunez.

Either way I see us getting the job done, 2-0 to the red men.

Should be too strong for Aston Villa tomorrow evening, at home. Fully expect to pickup all three points, befoe another unwelcome international break.

Hopefully. This would have been my sentiment before the forest game. But it wasnā€™t the outcome we wanted. So fingers crossed hereā€¦

Is this another one of those ā€œTest Gamesā€ that others feel we may F**k it up, like Palace, like Brighton, like Arse like Chavs, like Leverkusen, or anyone else who feel they can get something out of us, no one expected the start we have made, it is exceptional, but is it really surprising, really, the squad Arne has inherited was already a very good squad, decimated by the amount of injuries last season certainly curtailed our progress in JĆ¼rgenā€™s last season, we finished 3rd despite those injuries,

Arne has come in and seen what was required without having to spend too much on additions, made a few adjustments, most notably Grav in as DM, itself a master stroke, and has created a midfield with healthy competition, weā€™ve seen Curtis mature into the player he always promised to be, Macca & Szlobo dovetailing nicely, and with regular rotation it keeps everyone fresh and lessens the risks of injury, Diaz, Gakpo, Nunez & Mo are a formidable quartet with Jota the Slotta on the periphery of return, and of course we can add more creativity when Harvey come back in too,

Most will expect us to falter at some point, and in general we would normally hit a sticky patch at some point, but this feels different, I refer back to rotation and how Arne manages the squad, heā€™ll give key players 60-65 mins before tugging, where most will play 70-75 with other clubs, not only does this keep legs fresh, it give more minutes to those who would normally only have 15 mins or so,

Iā€™m looking at Arse as our main rivals, City Rodri or no Rodri arenā€™t the same side, still a phenomenal side of course but when a team has won everything there is to win, where is the motivation, maybe it needs a season or two of Not winning to stimulate that hunger again, ageing players, injuries to key players, all this and being off the boil all helps as far as we are concerned, Arse for me already have a mountain to climb just try and keep up.

Not sticking my head on the block yet but we are in a very promising position and no signs of any weakness!!

You know what Billy, F**k it I'm joining your band wagon mate. We look the bollocks at times. That second half again Bayer was fantastic. Arne is extremely thorough and thoughtful in his tactics and subs. Players really seem to be buying into his philosophy. Let's f***in go lads..

My thoughts on this game. Are we really capable of going all season in the prem undefeated ?
Probably not to be honest. Although at the moment I donā€™t see anyone to fear.
Villa currently stumbling and I really donā€™t see them beating us, although anything is possible. Rather than wait until the second half to step it up, letā€™s take advantage of their uncertainty and blast off from the start. I get the feeling if we can get two early ones, they will collapse.
Iā€™m therefore going to stick my neck out and go for a battering.
5:0 to the mighty red men. 👍
It doesnā€™t happen often in the prem, Iā€™ve just got a feeling !

Villa have stumbled a bit lately but there still a tough nut to crack. I'm expecting a close tight game. We've done fantastically well under Slot but have to maintain it. Think he could go again with Gakpo,Diaz and Mo. Nunez could be held back as tight defences sitting deep, don't necessarily favour his pace and power play.We need the quick feet of Diaz or Jota when he's fit in the box. Nunez could obviously still be the match winner.

      2-1

Dear Mr Gerns, just read again your first sentence and admit, that to most people, that reads as the whole season, not the remaining fixtures.
Plus, I'm not clever and I don't wear clogs....Enjoy the game tonight.

I think this is going to be a tough game. All our recent games against these have been. I know they lost midweek but im expecting them to be much better and we need to be on it at the back from minute 1.

      Kells

      Trent
      Konate
      Virg
      Robbo

      Grav
      Macca
      Jones

      Diaz
      Gakpo
      Salah

Lets get the 3 and at worse we stay 2 points clear at the top. City have a tough one at brighton but im expecting them to pick up 3 points and lay the gauntlet down. Anything less presents the same chance we had last week to capitalise and we simply have to take it. We are the last club to stop them winning it and we did it with relentless wins and broke them. Everytime they played they were under 'win to tread water' pressure.

Cos both teams should of been kicking off at 12.30 and both teams been in Champs league.

Can't argue with more drinking time as meeting up with a few Villa I know. Should be a good one.

Should be a roaring atmoshere too under the lights. 2nd half v brighton the crowd made such a difference ... disturbed them and pushed us on. Hoping for similar tonight ... and an early goal would be great. But just be great to score first.

      Enjoy the game fella
