Can't sleep tonight. We were discussing this the other day and I thought it would be a good bit of fun. So name your best Reds Premier League XI and maybe some honorable mentions.

Hmmmm.... Time flies as they say. I haven't checked but get the feeling Rob Jones was pre Prem days, before injuries cut short his  playing. Correct me iff i'm wrong.    But what a player !

We're not exactly spoilt for choice here given we've spent most of the Prem era being absolutely crap.

Rob joined late in 1991 i think. Prem started in 92. Destroyed giggs on his debut at the toilet. Superb full back for us for 5 years or so but yes injuries finished him after he joined West Ham. Similar to Joe Gomez he was the butt of a few jokes as he didnt score.

Evans switching to wingbacks in 1996 after he signed mcateer scales and babb didnt help him but along with Fowler he was one of my favourites. Fowler was god ... those 3 seasons where he banged 30 in he was unstoppable.

Jones was good but he isn’t a patch on Trent

Good freaking lord. What a team that is.

I notice no one's put Carra in there. Yeah he's a bit of a Sky Sports pr**k now but between him and Hyypia is nigh on impossible to choose. Carra was the one constant in defence during Rafa's time and his performances, especially on the big European nights, were legendary. I've been guilty as anyone in recent years of demeaning him but when I think back to some of his displays I can't help but love them. He may not have had the technical brute force of Virgil or Sami but he was a tireless player with incredible work ethic. I'd be in half a mind to slot Milner in there in place of Xabi as well. Similarly, not on the same technical level but his sheer work ethic would create all that space that Gerrard would just demolish the opposition. That said, Milner is not a bad option to bring off the bench though.

That attacking lineup is just pure filth though. Absolute filth - NSFW filth.

Midfield is the real difficult one for me wouldn't mind Henderson in there with the arm band.  I've just gone for out and out quality.  Fowler with Gerrard giving the hollywood balls and Salah giving quality service from the right not mentioning TAA,  and Alonso and VVD.   Fowler breaks the 36 goal record.     And Salah does what Salah does the goal magnet, 20/20 plus.

It's a sign of the quality we've had that people have to leave out the likes of Fowler, Owen, Firmino and Torres. I would also go with Suarez and Fabinho in the lineup and the rest picks itself IMO. Masch was a better pure destroyer but Fabinho was better overall despite his form falling off a cliff aged 29. Suarez was on another planet.

If he'd stayed long enough for Klopp then Suarez would be the best ever. Unfortunately he didn't hang around long enough and didn't get the trophies he deserved, unlike Owen who single handedly at times took us to some big trophy wins.

Don't think there's been a more technically gifted and talented player that has played for the club though. The quantity and quality of the goals he scored in 2013-2014 was a sight to behold.

Robbo...from Hearts..signed by Watson for £350...made 126/ 32....good winger.
